  1. Their offer of $2.5 million might have been the highest too.
  2. You could probably make a case that in the entire AL East, the only sure thing starter is Cole LOL
  3. Well, of course, with baseball players and all their variances, you can generally only judge bargains in retrospect. Which is not quite the same as being in the eye of the beholder.
  4. Not much point bringing the Price trade into the equation. Trading Price didn't just save money, but enabled the tax reset, and may have increased what we got from the Dodgers, though that's just speculation. And Price is at least as much of a question mark as Odorizzi going forward.
  5. Or maybe they will. Some free agent signings do end up as bargains.
  6. I think they'll both sign soon. Obviously not getting what they'd hoped, though.
  7. That's not great news for Devers LOL (Sorry man, I hope you don't mind me giving you a little heat about the 'favorite player' thing. It's all in jest.)
  8. Puig was sued for alleged sexual assault October 30/20 (the alleged assault occurred in 2018). No idea if the case was ever settled. But for me it was kind of the last straw as far as ever seeing him in a Sox uniform.
  9. You are The Iceman LOL
  10. Perhaps the issue I'm remembering with Kimbrel was that when he came in in the 8th for a 4 or 5 out save, he didn't do well in the 9th.
  11. Or OPS against, OBP against, SLG against.
  12. Keith Law ranked us #20.
  13. On a PTBNL note, the Dodgers just selected the last of the players they got from the Jays for the Ross Stripling trade in August. So six months later...
  14. Can you pull up the same numbers with the Red Sox?
  15. Reportedly he's got more than one offer in hand. I will predict he signs for a higher AAV than Mitch.
  16. We're in horrible territory here, but I think if his intent was vehicular suicide, there were much more effective ways to do it. Also, he was apparently en route to where he was supposed to be going.
  17. Moreland doesn't more straight value. He has a lower price.
  18. Trading JBJ would have enhanced the tank job too. Might have moved up a spot in the draft. Just sayin'.
  19. Seems to me the Yankees have a few health question marks in the rotation too. We all know what the realities and risks are. No need to try to rub our noses in it like you did there with Richards and Eovaldi. That's ********.
  20. Kimbrel's pre-9th inning results were also spotty to say the least.
  21. Even if not a hot commodity, you'd think they could get something.
  22. My suspicion is that he was asleep at the wheel.
  23. 100% trash talk.
  24. The question is more why wouldn't the Red Sox trade him for whatever they could get?
  25. Another illustration that if you have the money, you should have a chauffeur.
