  1. The fact is that the franchise has been on a roller coaster ride since 2011.
  2. Here's what you posted last night: I have to think it's kind of funny some of the "cliff deniers" are the now projecting doom & gloom, and many of the "cliff dwellers" are the more optimistic ones. You seem to like making it into a political issue - "cliff deniers" on one side, "cliff dwellers" on the other. And just like with real politics, it's a "gotcha" game. Ha ha, look at the cliff deniers now, what fools they are.
  3. I'm not sure why there's a need to use it, so I guess we're even.
  4. Who says it needs a special name? What was the special name for 2014-2015?
  5. He was a big fan of DJ Drew.
  6. I keep refreshing MLBTR hoping to see "Red Sox to sign Odorizzi (or Bradley or Porcello)", but all I get is a picture of Chaim Bloom smiling and telling me to remain patient.
  7. If Jackie experiences a perfectly proportionate adjustment, he will sign for 1.667 years and 11.733 million.
  8. And let's face it, if things go sour with Eovaldi and Richards, 80 wins may be a fantasy.
  9. You're still talking about it, man.
  10. Completely understand. I now have an online subscription to the Globe and am determined to get my money's worth LOL
  11. Have we really invoked the mercy rule 4 times in 2 games? Holy s*** LOL
  12. This is not what I like to hear.
  13. It's a sanity test for sure.
  14. They're in a delicate position with the fandom. They offloaded Mookie Betts and then spent this offseason adding virtual no-names. It's going to come down to the W's and L's, I guess.
  15. 700 is the not the only one who is deeply pessimistic about the '21 Sox, and Bloom, and the general state of the franchise, I found out after reading Shaughnessy's article this morning and the comments section.
  16. I think I have to file Travis Demeritte under unfortunate names.
  17. I see Alex is a big fan of the word impressed and its various forms these days.
  18. My guess is he sees action for us at some point this year.
  19. Which of the things she mentions come closest to irony, is sort of an interesting question, if you have way too much time on your hands...
  20. Interesting to see a young hitter who likes to take walks.
  21. Gotta keep some of The Fungibles around.
  22. This is a jagged little pill to swallow.
  23. I largely agree. It was the same with Clemens, then with Beckett when he was at his best, and now with Sale. Guys like these have huge value that goes beyond their own stats.
  24. Always liked Bret Saberhagen too. A pretty exemplary major league pitcher with a lot of guts.
  25. To me the 1998 team was the team that broke a skein of 13 postseason losses in a row, but then promptly lost 3 more. They were also part of a more hopeful period for Sox fans (largely due to Pedro) that culminated in 2004.
