  1. No new information from Mookie. Just as well. Like I've said before, he's a smart cookie.
  2. And don't forget the garage. Very important.
  3. I think the only place the words "cliff window" will ever be seen is this forum.
  4. Chavis has been hitting well in spring games, so we'll see...
  5. If the 2021 team is over .500, the 'cliff' was a 60 game tank job in a pandemic.
  6. I think that's another bingo.
  7. German has Chapman as a mentor. Aroldis will show him the way.
  8. Inning to inning ain't great. Batter to batter or pitch to pitch...kind of happens to the best of 'em.
  9. It wasn't a fake World Series though.
  10. Also, this goes in the 'what might have been' file, but I believe that the Bruins offered Bobby Orr a piece of the franchise when he became a free agent, but Orr's agent, the weaselly Al Eagleson, didn't disclose this to Orr because he wanted him to sign with Chicago.
  11. Excellent question.
  12. LeBron James is now a part owner of the Red Sox...
  13. Yeah, I think fetching beer qualifies as 'civilized hazing'.
  14. The Oracle has his own system.
  15. Sure seems like a reasonable take.
  16. I'm 65 and pain-free except for my knees starting to act up a bit. (Knocks on wood.)
  17. Our pitching has generally been pretty good over the last 5 games, so that's encouraging. Eovaldi had a bad 4th inning today, but that's not a big deal.
  18. Larry, your recaps have been pretty good so far, but this comment is a puzzler. The only one of our 2020 pitchers who pitched today was Eovaldi, and he pitched well in 2020.
  19. Great quote from Earl Weaver on that, said with a smirk of course: "The pitchers are ahead of the hitters this time of year...or is it the other way around?"
  20. It's just that I seem to recall a few springs where JBJ's bat was on fire, and then when the season started his bat was ice cold.
  21. This is a tough one. I would say for a pitcher, being healthy and having good velocity in spring games would certainly bode better for their season than vice versa. As for hitters, I don't think a hot or cold spring has much correlation with regular season performance, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong - by good old historical numbers.
  22. Sometimes what separates players is what's between the ears. Middlebrooks seemed like a guy who wasn't interested in listening to advice or making alterations. Hopefully Chavis is a little smarter than that.
  23. Say it ain't so, man. This site is developing dustballs as it is.
  24. Please elaborate on who and what this is directed at, Nick.
