  1. 462 PA's in 2018 and 460 in 2019 for the Dodgers. Isn't that a little above the threshold for a utility player?
  2. Kike has much better defensive numbers as a CFer than at 2B. moon was all over this at the start of the season. Kike is a very good defensive CFer. I don't think there's any basis for saying "he was acquired to play 2B".
  3. Come to think of it, the first time I heard anything about 'spin rates' had to do with the Astros. There was talk about Verlander having a dramatic increase in his spin rate when he went from the Tigers to Houston, and there was talk about strategic use of substances. Maybe that was where the Spider Tack Revolution (pun intended) really started. And then Cole went there.
  4. Our old friend Jose Iglesias hit a 2-run homer off Taillon in the top of the 2nd at the Stadium to put the Angels up 2-1.
  5. Well, I think you guys are going to be disappointed, unless we have an injury. If Duran comes up that would seriously reduce Kike's playing time, and Kike is playing great right now. Plus there may be concerns about Duran's defense.
  6. Rays quickly down 3-0.
  7. All I'm saying is they're not going to call him up unless it's to be a starter. Right now we're pretty well set with an outfield of Verdugo, Kike and Renfroe, and Arroyo at second when he's healthy. Santana is already pretty much out of the picture. He's playing tonight, but only because Arroyo isn't healthy yet and Kike is at second.
  8. You're underrating Kike a bit. He's now 5th on the team in bWAR. Bloom knows what he's doing.
  9. Logically speaking, I don't see how it can do anything but make games a little shorter on average, because there are fewer pitching changes. But I'm sure the difference isn't a big one.
  10. Why? The team is rolling and they're not going to promote him unless he can play a lot. And he'll be gone for the Olympics.
  11. No idea. Although I would like the 3 batter rule even if had no effect on speed of play.
  12. Seems pretty obvious they don't think it matters that much to the fans.
  13. When rules aren't enforced, the message is clear. The boys at the top don't care much about the rule.
  14. Sure. And maybe he's toast.
  15. What have you done with Kike? Arroyo has been having a lot of trouble staying healthy.
  16. His numbers are what look old. He's been useless for 2 months.
  17. Why did you like it? It may have been entertaining, but I fail to see how it achieved anything except possibly making himself look like a nutjob.
  18. I was a little surprised we didn't sign Moreland again. But Bloom decided to go with Dalbec, and Bloom is The Man.
  19. I'm afraid he might be Mitchie Too-Old at this stage.
  20. I'm sure there are many grievous omissions in that thread. That's one though.
  21. I agree. The in-game pitching changes are pretty important for various reasons. Cora has excellent judgment and feel for the game and his players.
  22. Ah yes, the inevitable Panik move.
  23. Moreland OPS by month: April .752 May .635 June .525 Can't get enthused.
  24. He's up to .727 hitting leadoff. That's only 50 points below Verdugo right now. We're not really talking dramatic differences any more.
  25. Moreland isn't hitting any better than Dalbec. The two of them would make a nice platton, perhaps, but I'm not sure the A's are in sell mode, either...
