    But isn't every single one of Mayer's tools better than Kavadas's? If you want to make an absurd comparison, here's one: Mookie vs. Ted. Ted would probably have fine being a DH, based on the stories about his attitude toward fielding.

    It's a very sensible move. Not sure it had anything to do with that play, considering the bad conditions.

    What I would say is that Cole is a terrific pitcher who was on his game last night. Last time we faced him he was a terrific pitcher who was off his game, and we got 3 homers and 6 runs off him in 5 innings.

    Stanton has an 827 OPS this year, LeMahieu has a 715. So I assume your position is that LeMahieu is a better clutch hitter?

    I'm talking about teams with legit small revenues and payrolls. Anyway, the first step would be to find any team who traded 5 players of that caliber in their prime or pre-prime. I have my doubts there are any.

    Dombrowski did a great job in 2018 without giving up much more than middling prospects.

    It raises some interesting questions on the circumstances under which the home team can delay the start of a game. I suspect the guidelines are not as clear-cut as I'd like them to be.

    Kimbrel is simply too pricy. Bloom's forte is finding guys who are underpriced.

    I'll challenge that one. And I don't think we should include players that were traded by teams that legit couldn't afford to keep them.

    Right, but how did the weather forecast play into this? The only way it makes sense is if the original forecast showed clear/rain/clear, and it turned out to be actually clear/rain/rain harder.
