  1. Hindsight is 20/20, but Theo told Little before the game to get Pedro out after 105 pitches, and Pedro threw 123 pitches.
  2. Posada's bloop hit came with only one out, and Giambi, who had homered twice in the game, on deck. If Posada had made an out, would Grady have left Pedro in to face Giambi again? I doubt it, but who knows with Grady.
  3. Pedro did the skyward look coming off after the 7th.
  4. We were beat by 4 straight hits, including a rocket by the previous batter Matsui.
  5. No help from Tiggers today.
  6. A motley crew indeed.
  7. C'mon man, Seventh Inning Fetch is pure poetry.
  8. As it turned out, this was just something John Henry was heard muttering during one of his drunken stupors.
  9. Or three diablos.
  10. And for some perspective on that, Dalbec's 2021 K/H is 1.6, so less than half as bad...
  11. True, but the buzz is a little dampened when the Sox have stunk since the deadline and the Rays and Yankees have been rolling.
  12. 2 runs in 6 innings vs. the highest scoring offense in MLB, I think we'll take it. He hasn't had a bad start yet in 4 times out.
  13. Whitlock, Stock and Barrel
  14. Nobody expected Bloom to get Kimbrel, I don't think. We were hoping for a Bloom-esque under the radar type.
  15. What more than adequate defenders are you talking about?
  16. I suppose it should also be noted that one of the splashiest deadline moves-the Yankees getting Gallo-has been a disaster so far. Gallo has 51 K's and 15 hits for the Yankees. You have to really let those numbers sink in to appreciate how incredibly bad they are.
  17. One thing is pretty certain - no matter what moves were made, the best case scenario was a Wild Card game.
  18. Yeah, it used to be the Yankees creating that pressure. Now it's the amazing Rays...
  19. In fact, with the COVID disaster, the best thing now might be to put Sale on the phantom DL, go full clown show and move up a few spots in next year's draft...
  20. To me the big question now about 2022 and beyond has more to do with if we'll ever catch up to the Rays again...
  21. In 20/20 hindsight, it doesn't matter about Robles and Davis, and hanging onto the money and the prospects was better.
  22. Not sure what that has to do with anything. I'm happy with the way he's looked, but being 3-0 is a product of facing Baltimore, Texas and Minny, and getting 34 runs worth of support.
  23. I read it more as "trade Vazquez and Xander".
  24. I figured as much.
  25. Well, at least we didn't trade for Kimbrel.
