  1. Because it got derailed to something more interesting. When I saw people were still posting to it I figured it could no longer be about O'Neill LOL
  2. What people should be looking at is the % of revenue put back into payroll. The Red Sox have usually had one of the highest %s, I think. Henry has been pretty ethical in that regard, IMO. It's smart, too. He knows his fanbase.
  3. To be totally "fair" about it, the owners have moved a significant amount from their original proposals, which were however ridiculous. I think they started by asking for the tax threshold to be pulled back to 180 million.
  4. The 2022 season is already partially ruined. Now it's just a question of how much more they can ruin it.
  5. Maybe for you and moon. The rest of us, not so much.
  6. Hometown yuckers is name calling too, ya know.
  7. You're joking, I hope.
  8. The first 2 series of the season are officially cancelled, for starters. A full 2022 season is dead.
  9. But some of those Sea Dogs dream of playing in the majors and making a lot more money, so they're greedy too!
  10. Well, apparently they've made some progress and extended the deadline for non-shortened season until 5 PM today. But still far apart on some issues, of course.
  11. And this year is the 50th anniversary!
  12. Is that what you're rooting for?
  13. It's almost like the baseball powers don't care much about us.
  14. One could argue that it's actually the poorer owners putting the clamps on the richer owners. However you look at it, it clearly affects the players, so they're the ones who have to fight it.
  15. The only criticisms are of his defense. Defensive analytics are much better now. Also, if he was set to make 3.1 million again in 2022 and 2023 I don't think he would have been traded.
  16. From the sounds of it, the two sides are still so far apart that it's a virtual certainty we're getting a short 2022 season, if we get one at all. Disgusting.
  17. He'll probably get a podcast.
  18. Seems like a nice, well-balanced lad!
  19. It does appear that it's the owners of smaller market teams who are throwing their weight around this time.
  20. It looks like the only way Bogey gets traded is if the Red Sox are out of it at the 2022 deadline.
  21. It's reaching the point you're scratching a dead horse's head.
  22. You posted that at 2:22. Might be good karma. Or not.
  23. Bloom bought prospects. It seems to be part of his MO. We all know JBJ is unlikely to earn what we're going to be paying him. Let's just stipulate to that.
  24. Aargh...not that dime-a-dozen thing again.
