    Lots of guys who signed big deals this offseason are off to slow starts. Seager and Semien got $500 million between them and aren't doing much yet. That's baseball.

    They can't force him. It's crazy, but that's the way it is. They were able to force Story, though, by making it a condition of his signing.

    You've moved the goalposts, though, haven't you? I remember you expressing a lot of doubt that Bloom would even give out a Story-type contract. Now a Story-type contract has become chump change. Nicely done.

    Yes, this is the bottom line. If you're complaining about being the team with the most titles this century, there's not much that can be done to make you happy.

    It's easy to say, but the Dodgers were only getting one year of Mookie and had to pay him $27 million, so they weren't really in a position of having to give up a pile of goodies.
