So your original point that the difference between 165 and 225 is only one hit a week is: a) an interesting mathematical tidbit that says nothing about the actual impact on runs, wins and losses -
The major league average for 2021 was 16.7 runs per 30 hits.

Just compare JBJ's fWAR as a 165 hitter (2021) to his fWAR as a 225 hitter (2019). It's a 26 run difference on offense (fewer PA's in 2021). The difference in his OBP was 80 points, so that would factor in too.

Times do change. Back then guys were getting deals in the hundreds of thousands. Now they get deals in the hundreds of millions.
