  1. But if he played for the Red Sox, Felger and Mazz would be knocking him as a weak bat.
  2. Looks like he was a plus defender from 1997-2000, but fell off bigly after that.
  3. I feel the same way when it happens. I couldn't believe Cash took Snell out...
  4. Bloom will probably bring Beni back at some point too...
  5. One thing about "third time through the order" metrics is that they're extremely simple. Here are the MLB splits for all starting pitchers in 2021: 1st PA .708 2nd PA .747 3rd PA .780
  6. That's just more confirmation that Felger and Mazz are a couple of ignorant tools. JBJ is a slightly above average major league player. He's way above average on defense and below average on offense. His above average-ness explains why he's been around so long in spite of the lacklustre offense. A guy whose profile is extremely similar is Kevin Pillar. He's been around a while too. Career numbers: JBJ 3286 PA's .705 OPS +87 OPS+ 14.2 fWAR Pillar 3833 PA's .705 OPS +88 OPS+ 13.6 fWAR
  7. I predict they will have a Z in their last name.
  8. Who will pitch more ML innings this year? -Derek Holland -Shelby Miller
  9. Correct. Whatever criteria is used, it's a lot. I just find it mildly interesting/amusing.
  10. So it's actually 8 times in 2 seasons.
  11. Over the last two seasons Bloom has brought guys back to the organization no less than six separate times! Alphabetically: Bradley Cora Iglesias Shaw * 2 Workman
  12. Yankees confirm they'll be making an extension offer to Judge before Opening Day.
  13. It Snow Balled.
  14. "Very inconsistent." He's pitched in 21 MLB games, with a 2.93 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. What are you expecting, no-hit bids every time out?
  15. Is it good for the players though?
  16. We read a lot on here about all the blunders the Red Sox organization has made. Considering that the Red Sox have the most championships of any team this century, just think of all the blunders the other teams must be making!
  17. So there was no Rule 5 Draft this year, I just read.
  18. Hard to say. Wells was just kind of marveling at the way fans would come up to him everywhere he went and start jabbering about the team, I think.
  19. FWIW David Wells said playing in Boston was different from anywhere else he played, because of the intensity of the fans...
  20. No, you're always sarcastic so there's no need.
  21. It's true. And it's incredible how much of that stuff they produce for me! The Curse of Oak Island is hilarious though. I think they're going to get 10 seasons out of it.
  22. Man, when you look at all these busted contracts, it's no wonder Henry wanted to hire a guy like Bloom.
  23. AGon posted good numbers for us, but we were fortunate to move him when we did, because he declined soon after.
  24. That emoji is not nearly as menacing as your new avatar.
