  1. And if the Red Sox didn't make getting vaxed a pre-condition of his contract, Story would probably not be going to Toronto either.
  2. It does seem inexplicable, and yet the numbers are pretty significant. Speier's article mentions 4 Twins players, 2 White Sox and 1 Mariner who couldn't go to Toronto. A rough guess is 5% of players.
  3. There are 4 players with the last name Peralta in the bigs this year. Jhonny was the first, with a career that started in 2003.
  4. It's a very common complaint about modern managing. I had some back-and-forth about it with New York Post writer Phil Mushnick, who has often highlighted instances of managers "finding the guy who doesn't have it". My argument was that he was ignoring all the times that it worked.
  5. There are several possible reasons: 1) He's one of those people who don't want to be told what to do. 2) He's received too much misinformation. 3) He has genuine concerns about the effects of the vaccine and as a young, healthy athlete, he feels he's in a low risk group. Whatever it is, it has to be pretty strong for him to give up $45,000 and to endure all this scrutiny.
  6. You are indefatigable.
  7. That statement by Jackson caught my eye too...
  8. Cortes and Holmes have arguably been pitching above their heads for the Yankees this year.
  9. Internet clarification is exhausting.
  10. Sale of course is not vaxed either.
  11. I just multiply their WAR by 3 for comparison to other players.
  12. A very little time.
  13. I believe his question was "don't you have to be all about clarifications here?"
  14. Cora with the major stones having Brasier pitch 2.
  15. Aagh...don't say things like that.
  16. mvp moved to Florida.
  17. Well, obviously it wouldn't happen 3 times in a season, but I don't see how that makes it irrelevant. It could still happen at the time of a crucial series. And I'm not talking about this being a penalty thing either, just about trading them to improve the team's chances.
  18. "Less sanguine" - nicely put.
  19. What about guys who might be on paternity leave around the time of a big series - do you advocate trading them too?
  20. And if I'm not mistaken, you have argued that it's up to the player whether they get those surgeries or not because it's their body. So how is Houck's "selfish" decision different from the decision of a player not to get surgery?
