  1. To me the Diekman contract might be the most confounding move Bloom has made. Especially when it was reported we were in talks with McHugh and then McHugh ended up signing for only a million a year more.
  2. Laugh at me if you must, but I think Bloom and Cora still have some faith in Brasier, and he's been pretty good over the last month.
  3. I think Larry was universally well liked. LeBron is not.
  4. My guess, FWIW: Cora won't use Houck for a full inning tonight no matter what, but would use him again to get the last out if necessary.
  5. Yes, he gave up 2 hits, one to a .287 hitter and one to a .338 hitter. That's gonna happen. Then he struck out a .344 hitter. He wasn't going up against any chumps.
  6. Papelbon and Kimbrel had their share of heart attack saves. The only relaxing closer we've ever had was Koji in 2013, and that was a short-lived phenomenon.
  7. Houck did get the big K on Goldschmidt to end the game.
  8. Iggy made two errors in that series, one in Game 2 and one in Game 6, and both contributed to key runs. Unfortunate, but it is what it is.
  9. Plus, some say, he's a good pitcher whisperer.
  10. Plawecki? I'd have to bet against that one.
  11. Jordan was gushed over, I think, and Bird and Magic before him. What they all have in common is the "c" word-charisma. Lebron doesn't have it as much, nor did Kobe or Tim Duncan. That's a very off-the-cuff assessment!
  12. Maybe it's because he still kind of looks like a little kid, even with the facial foliage. I'm not a Steph lover but he did impress me in this series.
  13. We've seen his basic approach last season and this one. Keep building for the future while trying to make the playoffs in the present. His real test is coming between now and next Opening Day. A lot of contracts ending and money coming off the books.
  14. It's a little silly saying the Sox were "not very good" last year. On paper they had no right beating the Yankees and Rays and going up 2-1 on Houston. But they did.
  15. He scored 43 points in Game 4 and 34 last night. He delivered the goods at crunch time. What more can you ask?
  16. But we all do that. You and notin have contests predicting who will be the next guy DFA'd. Swihart just takes it to more of an extreme...
  17. I argue with you about some stuff, but I know you want the Sox to win.
  18. A well-deserved win for the Warriors. They join the Red Sox as teams to win 4 titles this century.
  19. See the difference? I'm sure and you're not.
  20. Tylers, Trevors and Tanners are everywhere.
  21. Verlander's already done it. As have some others.
  22. One thing I am sure of about every single Red Sox fan here, is that they want the Red Sox to win every time out.
  23. If you're an A's fan, you need something to be proud of.
  24. Right, you're the guy who has to explain the real facts to us ignorant people on Talksox.
