  1. No, Cora and the staff decided they didn't want to use him in back to backs yet. The 22 pitches impacted the decision.
  2. As you know Cora did this in the 2018 postseason. But obviously they don't like to make a habit of it. If it was a good idea, every team would be doing it.
  3. Stallings, BTW, has a .526 OPS and a bWAR of -0.5.
  4. He only said the Sox relievers did better than the Sox starter that game.
  5. I seem to be seeing double.
  6. Patience with Bobby D. seems to be paying off again.
  7. Yes, we got one back that Pythagoras owed us.
  8. Sawamura has a 3.10 ERA, 3.64 FIP and 1.03 WHIP - which is usually your stat of choice of relievers. Those aren't decent stats for a middle reliever?
  9. The Red Sox have a 33-25 Pythagorean record, which suggests that overall they have not been fortunate. Is winning 1-0 fortunate? Seems to me you have to pitch well to do so.
  10. I think that may be it too.
  11. "Viable" - I like that one too.
  12. I'm a Cora supporter and I think he has good reasons for what he does, but unfortunately it seems like whenever he does the double sit-out, the rest of the guys do squat and make it look questionable.
  13. Some folks suggested he ate too well this winter...
  14. I also think the team's resilience speaks well for Cora.
  15. (Which was of course a misnomer for Youk, who was not Greek.)
  16. That's going to be a bad contract. And he's a good player. But not nearly that good.
  17. Baez .556, wow. Just another reminder that baseball is hard.
  18. Your take on Bradley continues to be wildly over the top. He's playing his usual great D and has a .760 OPS since May 1.
  19. Yes, when it comes to baseball it's not always who you're playing, but when you're playing them.
  20. I don't think STORK is a Yankee fan, because they are usually not shy about it.
  21. Bradley's bWAR inched up from 0.5 to 0.6 with his hit last night. Hard to believe some people don't see the fun in WAR.
  22. 2020 was definitely a year to forget, in many ways.
  23. 60 games. And they were turning it around toward the end of them!
  24. Because he had virtually no money to work with? That tends to limit you to the scrap heap.
