  1. What's in the works?
  2. Hugh, the team is decimated by injuries, we just went 4-13 against AL East teams and a fire sale looks like it makes the most sense. There's plenty of baseball left, but it doesn't look like it's going to be good baseball for the Red Sox.
  3. So you're using the argument that because good individual players don't guarantee team success, you don't actually need good players? Max, I know it's been a rough season, but don't let it drag you all the way down.
  4. The crazy part is, the guys we thought might be involved in the fire sale have done nothing but lose value. 2022 has become a spectacular fustercluck.
  5. Well, moon, I'm glad you're still hopeful about 2023.
  6. That's ******** about him commenting about you, too. You're a liar.
  7. Butt buddy. Not surprising that's where you take it.
  8. Yet another unprovoked attack.
  9. I think JH still wants to win plenty. He hired Bloom because he wants sustainable success. Right now the 2022 team doesn't look good, no getting around that. And I don't think JH can be very happy about it.
  10. What's really bizarre is that Mookie's deal actually looks almost sensible, comparatively speaking... BTW Chris Gasper interviewed Mookie and asked him flat out if the deal he got from the Dodgers would have kept him with the Red Sox and Mookie said yes. Whether true we'll never know.
  11. ? Devers is on the IL with a hamstring and JD has missed both games with back spasms.
  12. Cora doesn't have much to work with these days, but Refsnyder is one of the only guys who's doing anything. I would have DH'd him instead of Franchy.
  13. The Yankees bullpen is suddenly looking very dicey. That will happen when your expensive closer loses it and two of your horses go down for the season with injury.
  14. Franchy is Fried. Just a bad pun, but man has he been awful. Not a major league player, and his consistent minus WAR bears that out. The Benintendi trade yielded Winckowski, which could be a huge plus. But it has also resulted in big chunks of two seasons of Franchy.
  15. Have you gone to the dark side?
  16. I was actually thinking of a week that included the Boston Massacre.
  17. This has one been one brutal stretch all right. It's almost like the baseball Gods are sending signals to the Sox FO that a fire sale is the way to go.
  18. Have to disagree with the principle. Nobody had more media pissed off against him than Ted Williams, and I think there have been a few other Red Sox stars the media didn't like. Not that Duran is anywhere near a star at this point.
  19. No way this is more depressing than the most depressing week in 1978.
  20. Where's the King Out for the Season thread? Can't see it.
  21. I read what he said, I didn't see anything about "optics benefit". He said he could see Verdugo was going to beat him to the ball. He did say he would take one or two steps next time, but I don't think he meant he would do it just for show. Let's try to be a little fair here.
  22. You'll get MADCRICKETS on that one too.
  23. Only by you, over and over and over...
  24. And Holmes is mediocre, the way you slice it.
