  1. Only to the team of you and Old Red.
  2. Dave Dombrowski was with the Tigers for 14 seasons. They did not win any championships. They had a bunch of losing seasons during that time. Are we supposed to believe that he instantly became a much better GM when he came to the Red Sox? Or did he come into a much better situation? DD fans seem to want to dismiss the idea that the situation you come into has something to do with your chances of success...
  3. Of course results matter. It's just that some try to understand what led to the results.
  4. I think it's stupid in terms of being a baseball fan. It doesn't mean they're stupid people. Some call it baseball IQ.
  5. So what? It means the same as basher.
  6. So is Jock Supporter.
  7. I think it's very stupid to have no interest in the farm at all.
  8. Sure, you can keep saying it, and I'll keep not believing it. I think a lot of fans are more intelligent than you give them credit for.
  9. How 'bout Airheads on the Airwaves?
  10. Do we have to say the same things over and over? The farm is significantly improved and a lot of payroll room has been cleared for next year. As for the expiring contracts, you keep saying Bloom did nothing about them. What was he supposed to do about JD's and Eovaldi's contracts, for example?
  11. And that's 100% false. Nobody has complained more about the Bradley trade than moon, for example.
  12. To each their own, but I think going over the tax line this year was a signal that Henry is still willing to spend. Call it PR if you want. And yes, Bloom could have gotten back under by trading JD, Eovaldi etc., but that's not the message they wanted to send. They're trying to stick to the plan of competing while rebuilding. When the competing part fails but you're over the tax line, you look bad and maybe even stupid, there's no way around it.
  13. I think the basher argument would go something like this: it's his fault that the team was in last place at the deadline. They still had a chance to make the playoffs, though, because of the third Wild Card. But he put the final nails in the coffin by trading Vazquez and not getting any pitching help. The team was confused and depressed by this, so the attitude was hurt as well.
  14. Like I was saying. German outpitches Scherzer.
  15. Bloom-bashers will say that's all nice, but we're still 60-62, and last in the division.
  16. Why, because of the latest injuries?
  17. Good one. Too bad we didn't also have Mitch White.
  18. He could do all kinds of things, but isn't the best case scenario being an effective starter, maybe 90% of his old self?
  19. I'll stick with optimism, because it feels better and it doesn't matter what we think anyway.
  20. It was the Year of the Pig for our pitching staff. "Piggybacking" sounds like a cool idea at first, but was quickly demonstrated to be a useless idea. And the bullpen was a pigpen too much of the time.
  21. Converting Sale to a reliever would only be a last-ditch option if he couldn't perform as a starter any more.
  22. Bloom has a lot of work to do before next year. We all know that.
  23. Too bad for them. The only thing they can do about it is complain and/or stop watching. That's reality too.
  24. Bringing in those guys has nothing to do with building a sustainable winner. But they're the kind of fill-ins every team needs. You're too smart of a baseball fan not to know this.
