  1. Dear God no.
  2. To be fair, Danny, the Bruins might have taken backlash, but they didn't fire anybody, they just got rid of the player.
  3. We have to figure things out for ourselves, because the Sox FO: 1) Lies a lot. 2) Employs a policy of omerta to perfection.
  4. Dermody shows that Chaim is all about making good choices.
  5. Pivetta would be a less terrible choice.
  6. It ended before that, not because of that.
  7. Let's not start ragging on Raffy now. Did he say anything that suggests immaturity, or is he just in a slump?
  8. The direction to move on from Mookie had to come from Henry. Decisions on a player of that magnitude and cost are ownership decisions. The HOBOs are just hired hands who can be fired any time.
  9. The good news for me is that you made me rediscover Over the Monster. "Chaim Bloom is a terrible liar", as they put it.
  10. Mookie has been so classy and so smart since he left. Not a single word against his former team. Still kind of hard to believe the uber-rich Red Sox could not hold onto one of the very best players in their history in his prime.
  11. Yeah, we'll never know. But starting Dermody seemed to send a clear signal we were puntin' this one. Maybe that pissed Alex off.
  12. So one s***** start and a PR debacle. Good goin', Chaim!
  13. Right where we deserve to be. They cheaped out on starting pitching, and somehow forgot about defense. No one should be surprised by the results.
  14. Frankly I smelled a rat with Bloom's construction of the 2023 team right from the get-go.
  15. That's a humorous and horrible thought, that Kluber might single-handedly get both Bloom and Cora fired.
  16. IMHO both Dombrowski and Bloom are entirely blameless in Mookie's departure. JH drew a financial line in the sand. Mookie said himself if he got the Dodgers offer from the Sox he would have taken it. Maybe Mookie was just being politically correct, but there's no evidence to contradict what he said...
  17. Well, as you might say, it's only a matter of time until Duvall goes back on the IL...
  18. Don't forget he's cheap right now.
  19. You seriously believe Dave wasn't willing to go higher? You gotta be kidding.
  20. I'm with fellow poster Dipre, who says in a lost season like this surely is, you might as well see what Casas and Duran have. OTOH Duvall obviously deserves his fair share of playing time.
  21. "A means to a beginning" - that is excellent. This is why I come here.
  22. Getting into the playoffs in 2021 and knocking off the Yankees and Rays had a lot to do with that thinking. Definitely trending down hard since then. I still think Cora is a good manager, but Bloom hasn't been giving him much to work with. But I can understand why Cora is taking lots of flak too, because the team is playing sloppy and last night's use of Kluber was a debacle.
  23. The true test for him comes now. Can he bounce back? He did have a couple of hits last night.
  24. Kluber has to be DFA'd. No need to keep embarrassing him and us like this.
  25. What's the basis for your belief that the Sox were never going to be able to sign him?
