  1. You might have a point.
  2. Ort and Garza used as openers in the space of a few games. Are the Red Sox trying to invent a new strategy - the Garbage Can Opener?
  3. I'm getting bad flashbacks to last year, when we were going along good and suddenly our starters began dropping like flies.
  4. Quite the reductive question. My money would actually be on #1 based on the season so far. When we score 6 runs we usually win. But all 3 answers are in play for sure.
  5. Losing Houck is going to be costly, I fear. Losing Sale was not unexpected. But any losses of starters after Sale were going to be tough to compensate for. Bloom may need to make a move soon.
  6. As Jimy Williams liked to say, "We'll go play."
  7. Have to say we're in tough based on the pitching matchup.
  8. It would be astonishing if Bloom trades Casas in a deadline move.
  9. Looks like it's going to take an injury or an extended slump by Casas for Dalbec to get another chance with the Sox.
  10. Man, you really do your homework on these guys.
  11. He only threw 9 pitches in the 9th, but if he struggles more in the 10th he might end up at 30 pitches. Still no guarantee you win, and Jansen is burned for the next 2 games likely. Your truly, Cora fan
  12. Kind of a classic exchange about Bloom right here.
  13. That trade is a hard one to call. Bader has been very good *when* he plays.
  14. We say a ton of s*** about what they should do. We're bound to be right occasionally.
  15. I dig the existential philosophers too. Reading a bunch of Sartre stuff right now.
  16. I said this on another thread: Dalbec might be able to hit MLB pitching given another chance, but at the moment the Red Sox just don't have room to give him that chance. Hopefully he does get another shot somewhere at some point.
  17. He seemed to be a bit of a mess last year, after getting off to a hot start. We're not known for patience, of course.
  18. There you go. Bloom is on a roll right now.
  19. And he fattened a few of the Twins' averages in the process. He was everybody's pal last night!
  20. After logging a .524 OPS with the Yankees this year, Aaron Hicks has a 1.048 OPS with the Orioles. The second number is exactly twice as big as the first!
  21. We're getting some really pleasant surprises lately. Duran I guess would be the biggest.
  22. Dalbec might be able to hit MLB pitching given another chance, but at the moment the Red Sox just don't have room to give him that chance. Hopefully he does get another shot somewhere at some point.
