Just saying some of the same things over and over here, but I'll always think Bloom did pretty well with the trade of Betts, and I'll always blame Henry for not making a better effort to retain Mookie. Mookie is continuing to play like one of the all-time greats, 4 years into his time with the Dodgers.
  2. Bellhorn04
    LOL not bad.
  3. Bellhorn04
First guy to ever have an off-year. Good point.
  4. Bellhorn04
I've answered this plenty of times. Wacha was 11-2 with a 3.32 ERA last year. Nobody said they didn't want him back. Why are you persisting with this?
  5. Bellhorn04
    a) You're leaving out the $15 million posting fee. Not on the tax books but still real money. His fWAR is 0.9, not 1.3.
  6. Bellhorn04
True, but if Turner exercises his option for 2024 we're looking at the same thing next year.
  7. Bellhorn04
    But a very attractive .586 SLG and a 135 OPS+.
  8. Bellhorn04
He shouldn't be playing the field. But Bloom signed another DH in Turner. A lot of it comes back to Bloom's bizarre team construction, I guess.
  9. Bellhorn04
Agreed. He's been pretty good this year.
  10. Bellhorn04
Yoshida has a .676 OPS in June. Hopefully he turns it around in July. I'm not cheering against the guy.
  11. Bellhorn04
He's not an above average player. He's an expensive DH, plain and simple. I guess the reason I'm so critical might be because I'm getting tired of hearing about Bloom not having any money to throw around.
  12. Bellhorn04
This is it. Yoshida has been revealed to be an expensive DH who does not hit a lot of home runs.
  13. Bellhorn04
I largely gave him a pass for last year. This year I'm putting on him. I was uneasy through the whole offseason and all my uneasiness has been borne out in reality.
  14. Bellhorn04
So between Story and Yoshida, the thrifty Bloom has incurred a 41.33 million AAV this year for 0.9 fWAR and 0.7 bWAR. Thank goodness he's not a money-waster like DD!
  15. Bellhorn04
.676 OPS in June with 1 HR. Yeah, this might not age well at all.
  16. Bellhorn04
Guess what, Bloom signed a new DH in Yoshida who is on pace to hit 16 HR.
  17. Bellhorn04
Bloom added the Story albatross to the Sale albatross to keep it company. Bloom spent over $100 mill on a DH, essentially the same amount that DD spent on Martinez. We'll see if Yoshida matches Martinez in production.
  18. Bellhorn04
And Bloom went over the tax line in 2022 and got 78 wins out of it.
  19. Bellhorn04
"Impossible" is pretty hyperbolic. Difficult, sure, but I don't think it was impossible. He could have done significantly better, IMHO.
  20. Bellhorn04
    1 for 3 is good, if you're a hitter.
  21. Bellhorn04
And he arguably f***ed up last year's too. Maybe Bloom is a fine farm-builder who is not good at putting together major league teams.
  22. Bellhorn04
Not even after Game 3 of the 2021 ALCS?
  23. Bellhorn04
moon, you said the "real plan" could be 2025 and beyond. I was responding to that.
  24. Bellhorn04
I never said anything about a ring.
  25. Bellhorn04
How could Chaim Bloom possibly be expected to field competitive teams in his 3rd, 4th and 5th seasons? How freakin' demanding of us.
