  1. They're not trading Duvall unless we're toast.
  2. As it stands, it's Kike who's most likely to be a goner.
  3. If we're still in it, I don't see trading Duvall to clear a logjam.
  4. He was very close to the last guy used. If he was used instead of Strahm it was probably because RH hitters were coming up. Was Barnes so bad that he was dead last on the list? Was he an extra innings choker, is that the idea? Seems like you're judging on the results.
  5. Duvall's 2 RBI were the difference in yesterday's game. Refsnyder didn't do much but his stats against lefty pitchers are amazing. Duran got in the game and got a hit. It was all good. Cora knows what he's doing.
  6. He is Old Red Nation.
  7. Duran has 239 PA's against righties and only 39 against lefties this year. Which might mean his excellent numbers have a lot to do with not seeing many lefties. We don'tr actually know if he can hit lefties well yet. I agree he should get the chance, but maybe you need to look a little closer at the facts.
  8. I don't really buy it. I think what happened is JH, or JH/Werner, drew a clear line in the sand on their max offer to Mookie. That's always been my guess.
  9. Do you really not see the problem with this statement?
  10. Cora wasn't the mastermind. The scheme started at the top. I think that much has been documented.
  11. That's true, but we also gave the Dodgers the chance to extend Betts, and they capitalized. I also find it amusing that we do the 1/3 year thing for Betts's 2020, but not for Verdugo's 2020.
  12. Unless there's actual evidence, everybody's guess is as good as everybody else's. Guesses are fine, as long as you realize that's all they are.
  13. Ah yes, the word on the street.
  14. And I'm sure you have lots of concrete evidence that he was told not to.
  15. The reports were that Bloom had a lot of conversations with Cora and had some misgivings because of the cheating etc. I think it's pretty credible that it was Bloom's call to make.
  16. And in my opinion, DD deserves much credit for hiring Cora, and Bloom deserves much credit for re-hiring him.
  17. How many times have we seen a pitcher turn it around when he goes to another team? The acquiring team might have noticed a mechanical flaw in his delivery, or they might recommend he throw his changeup more etc. Sometimes one little tweak is all it takes. And if it turns out the guy is just cooked, you haven't lost much.
  18. And his worst month is .793. Good thing the whole season counts. The bottom line as of now is, JD is having a fine bounceback season, but in spite of that, Turner was the better signing. Everybody wins.
  19. We're all crybabies about something.
  20. It really is a feel-good story, but it's disappointing they haven't covered it in the Globe.
