  1. Our big addition for 2025 will probably be Giolito.
  2. Burnes looks like the best FA starter for sure. But I don't know if the Sox have the appetite for risk to go after him. He's about to turn 30. It's the same old deal - he'll be getting paid for what he's done. And the risk of him being yet another big dollar bust will be large.
  3. Crawford looks dreadful. And they said Pivetta's next start is going to be skipped because his velocity is down. We've got everything going for us but the starting rotation. The area they failed to address.
  4. The average MLB CFer has an OPS of .692 in 2024. So yeah, .700 would be a logical target for Little Raf.
  5. Fried looks very risky right now. His payday is shrinking.
  6. It's pretty amazing Rafaela has been able to post a .704 OPS in 419 PA's with a Dalbec-at-his-worst-esque 8 to 1 K/BB ratio.
  7. It's a crazy freakin' game.
  8. Awards like ROY are pretty meaningless anyway.
  9. Our recent "pitching for prospect" trade was not so successful, to this point...
  10. Personally I enjoy the fact I don't have to make those decisions. If he stays this hot, maybe he can be a worthy successor to Papi and JDM at the DH spot after all. I mean, he really looks good right now, especially because he's flashing some real power.
  11. Sell High: the mantra of every armchair wheeler dealer.
  12. Not sure I want to trade him any more LOL Dude is hot.
  13. We also have a guy on the payroll who gave up 24 HR after the ASB last year, which is probably another record.
  14. The optimal approach to resting is a very inexact science, I would say.
  15. I like "tenacity" and "resilience", for slightly bigger words...
  16. Who knows, maybe it was something they talked about before the season, that they were going to alter the approach a bit. I read somewhere that Duran said he wanted to play every game. That's all I've got...
  17. It's a little surprising, but to me it would be more surprising if there were no ebbs and flows with this stuff.
  18. It seems that way, with a few key guys at least. Duran has played every game. Devers hasn't missed many since returning to full health. I think Alex went into urgency mode a bit earlier this year.
  19. But Rafaela is 2nd on the team in AB's.
  20. Wong has 5 starts at DH this year.
  21. RHH DH options would be: O'Neill Refsnyder Wong Jansen Gonzalez
  22. My sense is that Cora was sitting him against some lefties because he was struggling. That seems like a Cora philosophy, if you're trying to get a guy going you start by getting his confidence up with AB's against pitchers the guy matches up with well. Plan A being that Yoshida DH's 90-95% of the games.
  23. As you know I was less than enamored with Bloomy signing Yoshida instead of a pitcher. But what's done is done. If he stays hot and they get a taker in the offseason without eating too much, it would seem to make some sense to trade him.
  24. BAbip factor looks significant.
  25. I don't know. All's I know is that Cora is as good a lineup juggler as one could ask for, so I'm content to sit back and let him do his thing.
