  1. The Red Sox are now 29-48 in Salty's last 77 starts going back to September. Seriously. We're 20-12 in Shoppach's starts this year. Some luck factors involved obviously, but still, that is pretty unf***ingbelievable.
  2. Agree with both of you 100%. A one game play-in is a horrible piece of gimmickry. Selig is showing his true colors on this one. Anything to wring a few extra bucks out of the suckers, and screw the integrity of the game.
  3. Not sure if that holds up to analysis, jung. Beckett had poor run support last year and so far this year, but from 2006 to 2010 his run support was consistent with the average run support for the team. I think it's mostly a random stat.
  4. No, scheduled rest day. Because of coming back from injury apparently.
  5. Problem is we're also losing every game Lester starts lately.
  6. The Sox are now 13-22 in Beckett and Lester starts, 35-24 in other games. Our biggest problem has now been clearly isolated. It's Beckett and Lester. Somehow we're going to have to replace at least one of them in the rotation.
  7. He's got 16 HR and 50 RBI in only 254 AB.
  8. 3 3-run homers for Cody in 2 games. Earl Weaver would have loved him.
  9. This team may have made some personnel mistakes, but what a pickup in Ross. Better keep this guy. He was born to hit balls off and over the Monster.
  10. Game 7 of the World Series, I might have to start with Schilling. His postseason record is incredible.
  11. Sorry, I meant 'good idea' on Pedroia DH'ing.
  12. That story popped up a little while ago.
  13. Good call on Pedroia DH'ing.
  14. Lefty starter for Chisox - I would expect to see Ross higher than 6th. I agree about Shoppach instead of Salty. Valentine usually goes with Shopp against a lefty starter.
  15. Cody Ross's updated 2012 numbers vs. LH pitchers: 78 PA 67 AB 328/410/836 - 1.246 OPS 9 HR 24 RBI Projected to 600 PA's he would have 69 HR and 185 RBI
  16. Gomez at Pawtucket 317/371/634 Lavarnway 294/383/447
  17. I didn't think tonight's game signified that Ross was getting streaky, but that he is continuing to do very sick things to left-handed pitchers this year.
  18. You f***ers are 36-13 in your last 49 games. We might as well just start giving you a bye into the playoffs. This'll be 17 out of 18 years you make the playoffs. That's just stupid. f***ers.
  19. It's like this, really...I've been a fan of this team way too long. When 700 Hitter said Youkilis was going to pull a Fisk on us, I thought, s***, he's right. And so far he is.
