  1. My guess is that the Scutaro trade is kind of symbolic to some people of our front office being stingy and full of s*** this year.
  2. Reddick is 0 for his last 21.
  3. The one thing I loved about Albers is that he has almost always pitched well against the Yankees. His numbers against them are so good it's hilarious.
  4. I think Clayton Mortensen would be deeply honored to know the level of discussion he has generated here.
  5. I'm sympathetic to your cause, Juiced... Mortensen has pitched 49.2 MLB innings in relief now. His numbers in those innings are pretty good. But it's still a small sample, less than a season, and mostly in low-leverage innings. We do need the sample to expand before we can draw any conclusions on the guy's long-term effectiveness.
  6. You gotta have a pretty weak lineup to have Scoots batting 5th.
  7. Assuming Beckett misses at least one start, this will be the fourth time since September/11 that he's had to do so. It's hard not to think that his physical conditioning or lack thereof is contributing to these issues.
  8. C'mon, he beat Justin Verlander last night.
  9. Since the White Sox played in Fenway, Youk is 4 for 37.
  10. At the very least it's hard to deny that Beckett has become very unreliable physically. This is his third issue so far this year, on top of the one that affected him last September, and missing most of 2010.
  11. I don't think so. The game reverts to the end of the previous inning. But if the Tigers had scored runs and tied it or gone ahead and then they called it, it would be treated as a suspended game. That was a rule change they put in a few years ago and it affected a game a couple of years ago.
  12. Nice bit of luck for a change. Works for me.
  13. I started the thread...didn't really care about the near no-no...I only mentioned Burnett because he's an ex-Yankee and I enjoy it when ex-Yankees do better than when they were on the Yankees.
  14. Kind of an interesting read on the new Yankees spending policy which revolves around being under the $189 million luxury tax threshold for 2014. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/yankees/cash_keeping_bucks_7eIrLdes34c2q3H8CZ9oRJ
  15. A. J. Burnett loses a no-hitter in the 8th, ends up with a 1-hit shutout. He's now 13-3 with a 3.27 ERA for the Bucs. LMAO
  16. The Yankees didn't 'really improve', on paper anyway. They added a guy with a .642 OPS and a guy with a .676 OPS. They added 2 guys who are hitting well below MLB average this year.
  17. Yeah, probably not. I just try to enjoy each one of their losses.
  18. Winning ballgames is the only cure for that.
  19. That'd be a bad move in my opinion, leaving us with one bad defensive catcher and one inexperienced one.
  20. It could just be a standby thing in case one of them gets dealt.
  21. I thought you were a 'sell high' guy. That's what we did with Albers.
  22. Breslow's a lefty and his career numbers are pretty good, better than Albers.
