  1. No-there are no sure things. Two of the AL pitchers we think of as aces, Verlander and Sabathia, have postseason ERA's of 5.57 and 4.81. Pedro was probably our best pitcher ever, and as we all know, in his last few years with us he regularly lost against the Yankees.
  2. 11 game hitting streak for Pedroia...19 for 43.
  3. Alright Clay. You are actually giving us something worth watching.
  4. Another solid outing tonight. 11-3 and ERA creeping ever closer to below 4!
  5. Or the 3 runs they have now may be enough.
  6. These are even better than I thought they might be.
  7. Act of Squalor, I like that a lot...glad I started this thread.
  8. That's not bad either. And we can have Jennifer Love Hewitt play Jenny Dell.
  9. Personally jung, I hope you're wrong about the plans for Iggy...I hope he gets a shot at the starting job.
  10. More and more it looks to me like the man lurking in the background, Lucchino, is the true architect of this road to ruin.
  11. (I know some of these are on the lame side. I'm sure some of the clever folks here can come up with some good ones...) DISGRACEFUL (referring to Stephen King's chronicle of the 2004 season, FAITHFUL) Field of Screams The Bad News Beers The Boys of Bummer Searching for Bobby Jenks
  12. And who are we supposed to partner up with on this?
  13. No...we have to hang onto the good ones.
  14. Jeez, is it really necessary to keep abusing poor Nava? Even with his slide he ended the year with a .770 OPS, and that, my friends, is still higher than the league average of .735. I guess the average major league ballplayers we're watching have no talent.
  15. Plus he came into this year with no MLB job in the last 10 years.
  16. If he walks away he looks like a quitter and a pussy doesn't he? If he has any aspirations of managing again I can't see how that helps his cause.
  17. We now have one run on 11 hits and 2 walks. And the 11 hits include 3 doubles and a triple.
  18. Attaboy Mark. After giving up the big jack, you can relax and get guys out.
  19. That's how the Birds are winning games. They actually play smart.
  20. What a typically disheartening 2012 Red Sox game.
