  1. He's pitched pretty well lately though (1.98 ERA in last 36.1 IP). However, we are playing good offense right now and I think we can put a crooked number on him just as we did with Wang and Johnson.
  2. Your lineup is so decimated now it's about as bad as ours was after the trade last year. Needless to say your pitching is a lot better.
  3. We often worry about our bullpen getting stretched thin. In the first 2 games of this series the Jays starters have pitched 5 innings and their pen has pitched 11. Let's see if we can get into that pen early one more time today.
  4. Uehara's been a dream so far. They have to be careful with him needless to say. If there's a save opp tomorrow Tazawa will have the chance.
  5. As for Bailey, he still hasn't had a 1-2-3 inning since April 24. They keep giving him chances and he keeps blowing them. He can't have many more left.
  6. WMB lost his job to Drew. Drew has been by far the better player since early in the season. It's the Sox good fortune that Iggy made the switch to third so easily. WMB could get his job back at some point this year but he's really fallen behind.
  7. There could also be some games going on between the Sox and the Tigers, who need a closer even more than we do.
  8. Injury...hopefully minor. Limping a bit when he came out.
  9. Some of the trade talk is just people having a bit too much time on their hands. Plus with the advent of message boards, people get to really indulge in their fantasies of being managers and GM's. But you also need to step back and not take yourself too seriously.
  10. Hopefully he can bounce back a bit. I'd say he's hovering on the edge of Toastville.
  11. And the Yankees losing makes it a good day on the planet.
  12. Uehara could be a great closer. Just have to pray for his continued health and well-being.
  13. Well, as Born to Run said, in one of my favorite lines of the year so far: Uehara is f***ing hardcore.
  14. Man, Gameday has really cranked it up with the commercials!
  15. All the way. He resembled his former self tonight.
  16. Alright Salty, your OPS goes in the right direction tonight.
  17. s***, Lester's low pitch count actually worked against him tonight. If he had been at 104 pitches instead of 84 after 7, Farrell would have taken him out and he'd have a nice line of 7 innings 2 runs, and a Quality Start. Instead it's 7+ innings, 4 runs and no QS.
  18. Only 84 pitches through 7 for Lester. That's a welcome sight.
  19. And pound for pound, it's not even worth trying to think about. Pedey's autobiography is actually worth reading, because it really seems to be mostly in his words.
  20. Let's forget about field managers for now. I'm genuinely curious as to why you have formed such a low opinion of GM's. I don't see any of them as great geniuses, but I don't see where most of them are dunces, either.
  21. I really don't want to get into an extended debate about it, but I think there's plenty of evidence, anecdotal at least, that some players are affected negatively by the spotlight of playing for the Yankees or the Sox.
