  1. I just realized something very troubling about the decision not to use Workman last night. Farrell said he didn't want to use him 3 games in a row. But he used him to close out Monday's game with a 7-run lead. Ugh.
  2. If the Yankees do make the playoffs, Girardi will have to be credited with one of the best managing jobs in history.
  3. There are some very bad signs developing. I hate giving games away and I can't help feeling we did it two out of the last 3 games. Still pissed at Dempster.
  4. Have to agree. Can't be f***ing around at this point. Ortiz could have made a big difference last night.
  5. That's a dilemma you can't do anything about. Those are the easy ones.
  6. We have to win today. If we lose today it's 4 straight series losses, against teams with worse records. That would not be not good at all.
  7. What's really disturbing is blowing leads like this. 6-3 vs. the Yankees, 2-0 vs. the Giants. Offense shuts down and pitchers cough it up. And manager is starting to look questionable.
  8. I'm not giving up on Bogaerts just yet.
  9. 2 ML AB's and he's already left 5 guys on base. Welcome to the show kid. Like to see him hit one on the button tonight even if it's at somebody.
  10. Victorino's move to hitting only from the right side is looking brilliant so far.
  11. In a perfect world we'd love to have him back. But it's just one of those situations where the economics are virtually a no-brainer. Ellsbury will get way overpaid by somebody, we have Bradley ready to take his place, and we have other needs to fill.
  12. It's called going with the flow.
  13. No need for an identity crisis. You're a troll.
  14. No, it's Mike Carp. Are you trolling?
  15. Salty can't catch a break here. FanGraphs now has him at a 2.3 WAR.
  16. Couldn't find a picture of him for your avatar?
  17. To me this is not really an accurate way to describe it. With his numbers against righties he should get every start against them, which means he would be starting about 65% of the time.
  18. Baseball-Reference has Nava's WAR at 1.7, which in this case is a big difference from FanGraphs' 1.0.
  19. I don't know, but he looked great. Not just the pitching, but he also looks great physically...damn, he actually looked like a happy guy in the dugout.
  20. The Eck's verdict: dumb...we're trying to beat the Yankees here...should have just moved on after the first pitch behind A-Rod...made no sense that he wasn't ejected...total embarrassment when A-Rod juiced him 450 feet to dead central. Best part of Eck's comments...it's not like he's Bob Gibson, who would plunk a guy to start the inning and then strike out the side.
  21. Good, I think we finally bludgeoned this topic to death.
  22. Excellent. He's gonna have 3-way splits this year...
  23. I'm interested in this. Can he convert from switch-hitting to just batting right-handed?
  24. Same here man. In real life I'm on the shy and introverted side. Those qualities did not work well with high school.
