  1. Shaughnessy is a tool Fred, don't align yourself with him. This is the same clown who wouldn't let up on Schilling with the Blogbloy Blowhard crap. He loves being front and centre on any negative s*** that applies to the Sox. Who cares if 2013 was an aberration? What are they supposed to do, give back the rings?
  2. This is one of the most incredible stretches of futility I've ever seen.
  3. Baserunners with two outs, this can't fail!
  4. Incredible. 4 innings, 4 left in scoring position. And the night is young.
  5. 2 men left in scoring position so far. It's so unlike us!
  6. Ha. Nice sweep for the Tribe.
  7. I have to admit that my comments about Ellsbury are influenced by the fact that he's been in a big slump lately. His defensive numbers have also been surprisingly poor.
  8. Or: Webster for two bombings Rubby for two shellings Barnes
  9. I think signing Ellsbury would have been a very bad move for this team. Salty I could see going either way. That might turn out to be a mistake. But remember how many Sox fans ripped him to pieces when he was here.
  10. As we know, sometimes SABRMetrics can turn suck to luck.
  11. Gordon Edes of ESPN Boston was equally bewildered by the bunts.
  12. Good question. To me it's just poor performance, but if they ever reverse the trend I guess we can look back and call it bad luck.
  13. By far the biggest problem has been the terrible hitting with men on base. The Sox are 3rd in the league in OBP. Getting guys on base is not the issue. Getting them in is. We saw it last night with another pile of squandered opportunities.
  14. I can't explain it, but it seems like the team has especially sucked in the situation of runners at first and second and no outs so I looked it up: 28 PA's, 26 AB's 2 singles 1 walk 1 RBI
  15. But he would have cost the Yankees a pretty low draft pick this year.
  16. Drew hit 284/377/498 against RH pitching last year and we have really been struggling against RH pitching this year. Farrell says that Bogaerts will be playing SS when we face LH starters.
  17. I have to agree. The bullpen has been much better than I expected.
  18. You got that straight amigo!
  19. I think of myself as just an interested onlooker.
  20. NY Post says second week of June.
  21. You're right, the draft pick is no longer an issue. Is any team going to give him a multi year deal though?
  22. Well, we would gain a draft pick if another team signs him before the draft. If nobody signs him before the draft we don't get a draft pick. So it's becoming less and less of an issue.
  23. I'd like Drew back too. But it seems pretty unlikely now. If they sign him now they get a rusty player and they still lose the draft pick. Plus we don't know how much he and Boras are asking for.
