  1. Yes. He replaced Doubront. Now we also need replacement for Buch.
  2. And then he'll sent down for the starter who replaces Clay.
  3. His 4th blown save against 12 saves. Not good.
  4. Certainly seems that way. I suspect the opinions of Farrell and the pitching staff, through Farrell, had some impact on it.
  5. Nice job with the opening posts, Navafan. Pictures and graphics and everything. Now let's keep the win streak going.
  6. That's right. The 2012 team was still in the chase for a wild card at the end of July. And it's not like Valentine was the main reason for the awful season. But he was certainly bad enough to blow his one and last chance to be an MLB manager.
  7. Sure he would be. Of the 3 'kids', Middlebrooks was the biggest X factor, and the worst-case scenario happened for Mr. X.
  8. He reached base but he didn't 'earn' it - that's the concept anyway - like unearned runs for pitchers.
  9. Bogaerts's UZR is better than I thought it was.
  10. Based on which numbers are we better at SS this year?
  11. Nava contributed by drawing a big walk yesterday.
  12. Nava was definitely one of my favorite players the first half of last year at least. He was an on-base machine for a pretty long stretch. He had a lot to do with our first half success.
  13. Yeah, figuring out that you stink, just like us.
  14. Awfully quiet here.
  15. I get that, but I don't understand your statement that 'they saved a grand total of 4 million.' I would guess Boras was originally asking for 35-45 million.
  16. What are you saying the Sox should have done?
  17. LOL keep up the good work.
  18. This is a horror show alright. There's nothing you can say, really. All you can do is hope it gets better somehow. Just win a couple of games and get that feeling back.
  19. The Marlins got a good deal on Salty at 3/22. That's pretty small money these days.
  20. It was a blessing when Shaughnessy's crap was moved to the pay section of the Globe.
  21. In most cases, championship teams are unsustainable aberrations. Granted the 2014 Sox are taking more of a nosedive than most championship teams. But hardly anybody repeats anymore - nobody's done it since the 2000 Yanks.
