    Bradley is hitting .299 in his last 20 games, raising his average from .202 to .225. There are some positive signs for him.

    Could be, but I also don't know why they juggled the rotation so that he would start two games in a row. Usually the Sox give their starters as much rest as possible. Here's a guy who's not the world's most durable, not far off the DL, with a pretty high pitch count last time out.

    Too bad we don't have a sweet clue of what Lester is looking for, or whether he has given the Red Sox any numbers at all.

    But Lester is at 1600 innings because he's never on the DL. Plus he hasn't had any really excessive innings numbers in any one year. He's a good bet to stay healthy.

    Agreed, doing it for only 2 years of Stanton wouldn't work.

    I would trade Bogaerts for Stanton. The question is who else would they want along with Bogaerts.

    I know one shortstop that won the MVP. He used to be a great trivia question to ask because only a true baseball geek would know the answer. You could give the year, the team, the position, and his initials, and you would still just get blank stares. (Zoilo Versalles, Minnesota, 1965)

    Bradley has a 1.5 WAR compared to Span's 1.8 so he's been pretty close.

    Personally it would be a bummer to me if it's serious. Not a Yankee fan obviously but this guy has been special so far.

    I'll agree that the Red Sox benefitted from some good fortune and some overachieving last year. The thing is, though, that this is not uncommon for World Series winners. You don't see too many 'superteams' that steamroll through the regular season and the playoffs. And we're not seeing any teams repeat.

    Fans aren't happy. They'll be even less happy if they don't re-sign Lester and he's in pinstripes the next 5 years.

    Gomes started because of his numbers vs. Jimenez - 7 for 18 with 3 HR.

    Yeah, that pissed me off too. Farrell let Gomes stay in against the righty because he had done OK against the lefty. Gomes wasted no time confirming the idiocy of the idea.
