  1. Maybe the rotation only needs a #1 to be added. Maybe not. I wouldn't bet the farm on Porcello/Kelly/Buchholz/whoever.
  2. It's tragic, though, that he isn't eligible for a win.
  3. There must be a HazMat joke in there somewhere too.
  4. He did get off to a great start this year. He's fragile though. The Buchholz of centerfielders.
  5. I think it's just a gag. Lord knows we need entertainment this year.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong, Jacko, but it looks like Girardi has begun using Ellsbury as a platoon player, not starting against lefties.
  7. They will probably have Pineda ready to come in right behind him. In fact Girardi will probably be setting up the entire staff for that game. As he should, it's the whole season now.
  8. According to Forbes Magazine the Red Sox gross income last year was 370 million. The team's market value or projected selling price was 2.1 billion. http://www.forbes.com/mlb-valuations
  9. And tomorrow Breslow gets the first start of his career!
  10. It shall be Mike the Ass then.
  11. Not literally, but maybe figuratively. Sox fans were screaming for heads to roll after the collapse, chicken 'n' beer and Carl Crawford.
  12. Benny the Boob, remember?
  13. It's too bad the Rays won't deal with teams in their division. Otherwise we might be able to trade for one of their young pitchers like Odorizzi. They need offense. We could trade them Hanley plus a prospect, and pay a big chunk of Hanley's salary.
  14. In his last 9 starts Miley has a 3.75 ERA and 62.1 IP. Especially like the 62.1 IP - just about 7 innings per start.
  15. Since 2008 for me.
  16. Full marks for being hopeful.
  17. I don't know why Lovullo sent him out for the 8th. He was at 108 pitches after 7.
  18. Loney is on a 3 year, $21 million deal. He's the other moneybags on the team.
  19. Have things really changed that much? Seems to me a balanced attack is still what you want. OBP, speed and some power. The Jays have the best offense in baseball and the home runs are certainly a big part of it. (They also lead the majors in OBP.)
  20. No. I'm not sure it'll be another GM job.
  21. Cherington will get a job. The way the Sox are looking now is making him look better.
  22. Yeah, I've had enough of it for tonight.
