  1. Yes, it's amazing how fast the chicken salad can turn to chickenshit. Price was completely out of sorts in the first game.
  2. I think Kimmi was into the red wine when she posted that. J/K She's talking about the Yankees. She's still burned about Damon signing with them. She fears their offseason shenanigans. I can relate to that to a degree, though a lot has changed since George was calling the shots.
  3. Cubs for me.
  4. How can you possibly pass up our hot stove action? It's gonna be good!
  5. Well, as bad as Porcello was this year, he was much improved after coming off the DL.
  6. A decent piece on the Sox by Joel Sherman of the NY Post. Interesting comment in here by a scout about E-Rod's potential. http://nypost.com/2015/10/03/is-red-soxs-sudden-rise-for-real-3-questions-before-the-stamp/
  7. Porcello ERA currently sitting at 5.01. C'mon Rick, 2 scoreless innings and you're below 5!
  8. And then you woke up, unfortunately.
  9. Here's a perfect example of something the advanced stats uncovered and then confirmed: in spite of the Gold Gloves, Jeter was a poor defensive shortstop after a certain point in his career. Not because he made a lot of errors, he didn't, because he was very sure-handed. But his range eroded over the years until he was a virtual statue compared to many other shortstops.
  10. You have some issues, man. But you're likable.
  11. It's amazing how good some of our pitchers have been lately, out of nowhere. Hill, Breslow, Kelly, Porcello...
  12. I got stoned with my wife and she fell asleep. Typical Saturday night.
  13. I've been spot-checking the game on Gameday. Looks like quite a snoozer.
  14. The fact that they didn't get Hanley into even one single meaningless game at 1B this year does not bode well for them trying it next year.
  15. Yes, the avatar thing is funny. One time 700hitter was having an argument with Spitball, another poster who also has his dog for an avatar, and it was driving me nuts with the two dogs going back and forth.
  16. That's Bubbles, and he's not as insane as he looks. But he has this wisecracking ventriloquist's dummy named Conky who looks like him...that's me.
  17. Screw that. I'll give you some honesty. I want him back or I want him to stink. Well, OK, he can pitch well if he signs with Miami.
  18. Yeah, it'd be nice to see that guy come back. He was so good in the 2013 postseason.
  19. Congratulations Jacko. Wild Card game in Da Bronx should be fun viewing. No need to tell you who I'll be hoping for of course.
  20. Trajectory yes. But I think you can only go so far. Most of the things you mentioned also affect hitters and pitchers, and they tend to even out over the season.
  21. Except that he may have an innings limit of 180 or something like that.
  22. UZR ratings will probably be done strictly by computer within the near future. The technology just keeps advancing.
  23. Price's final price tag should be something like 220 million, depending on which teams are in on him. That's a tough call for John Henry, who has gone on record about how deals like that for 30-year old pitchers are a bad idea. On the trade front, Carrasco seems to be the consensus pick as the best target. I don't like the idea of trading E-Rod at all.
  24. Some unintentional human error is almost always to be expected in data collection.
