  1. Absolutely true. But the flip side is that the leadoff spot will get the most plate appearances of anyone.
  2. Here you go, folks. Up until May 5 Mookie was hitting 3rd. Since May 6 he's been hitting leadoff. Up until May 5 we scored 110 runs in 29 games, or 3.79 per game. Since May 6 we've scored 267 runs in 51 games, or 5.24 per game.
  3. 4th place? Now I think you're overstating your case. Anyway, Dombrowski has never been known to be a stand pat guy, so let's see. I'm in the crowd that would like to see Devers get a shot before we make any big move there.
  4. What folks seem to forget is that we've been scoring significantly more runs since Farrell moved Mookie from third in the lineup to leadoff in early May, and you could look it up.
  5. Moreland has 12 HR's, 8 solo shots and 4 2 run HR's. Not much difference. Last night Mookie had runners on in front of him all night. Looks like 7 total.
  6. We don't necessarily have any fatal flaws. Our pitching looks good enough. The problem area is 3B but just about every team has a weak spot somewhere.
  7. I'm pretty much the same.
  8. It's possible that having a guy like Ortiz takes a little pressure off some of the other hitters and keeps them from trying to do too much.
  9. Price really looked sharp with his location in his last couple of innings. He looked like the real Price.
  10. As much as Cashman has been praised for all the moves he made trading stars for prospects, I'm still not convinced he did the right thing trading Andrew Miller. It could certainly pay off in the long run, but it's unquestionably hurting the 2017 team. Miller has a 2.2 WAR, the same as Kimbrel. I for one am glad the Yanks don't have him, especially with how their bullpen has been struggling of late.
  11. DD just acquired Peralta for funsies?
  12. I think the Pujols contract may have been the most blatantly stupid ever - especially since they had the cautionary example of A-Rod right in front of them.
  13. No doubt, but all signs point to JH paying a lot of attention to the luxury tax stuff so far. We'll see if that changes.
  14. Manny was pretty well received when they had the 2004 team anniversary thing, if I recall correctly.
  15. Our offense is still sporadic and mediocre. Good games and bad games in equal measure.
  16. DD doesn't set the budget though, JH does. If JH says here's some more money to spend, DD will certainly be most happy to oblige him.
  17. I agree with this too.
  18. I liked Soupy Sales.
  19. Very good.
  20. Peralta will be with us in no time.
  21. Marrero is about to go on a tear. I predict another hit for him tonight.
  22. I completely understand your reasoning.
  23. Better leave it at 25. If you add another player: 1) Games will be longer. 2) The already-challenged managers will have even more options and things to think about. 3) Fans will have more to second-guess and complain about.
  24. Sox fans are geniuses at complaining though. As Max pointed out, Pedroia had 3 hits and a walk last night and the only comment was about his bad base running.
  25. Yep, you win some, you lose some.
