  1. We all should be.
  2. True enough, but you also have to look at all of our wins where Kimbrel recorded the last 3 outs, and think of what it would have been like if it was someone like Kelly trying to close out those games. Kimbrel has a 1.86 ERA for his career and a .92 WHIP.
  3. It's cherry-pickin' time! Bogey's last 57 games/55 starts: 316/397/568 - 965 OPS
  4. But that stats that year showed clearly that Pedro lost a big part of his effectiveness at about 105 pitches. Theo went over those stats with Grady before the game and I think virtually ordered him not to let Pedro go over that limit. Plus Timlin and Embree had stellar numbers that postseason.
  5. But Theo also signed Keith Foulke that offseason. And he signed a bunch of relievers this past offseason. So what do ye say to that?
  6. It's a great question.
  7. Betts, Sale, Bogey - assume an average cost of 31 mill. That's 93 mill. Price 31 mill. Kimbrel say 16 mill. That's 140 mill on 5 players before even getting to Beni and JBJ. It's gonna be tough.
  8. I assumed he was a given.
  9. Brasier Barnes Workman Wright Hembree Eovaldi Poyner
  10. It's by no means a given that they let Kimbrel walk, either.
  11. The back to back plunks by Kelly last night also spoke pretty poorly for his command.
  12. Yes, except to the game thread guys...
  13. He's a disappointing little bastard like Buchholz.
  14. That was Daniel Bard-esque last night. 4 batters faced, 1 walk and 2 plunks.
  15. 2 questions: 1) Assuming Price stays healthy and continues to pitch like this, would you be happier if he opted out or if he stayed? 2) Under the same assumptions, do you think the Yankees would take him this offseason for 4 years/127 mill?
  16. The Yankees might do it.
  17. 'Vanguardist' - I like that word.
  18. The Red Sox have had a lot of trouble scoring early runs lately, although they have won a lot of those games where they didn't score early.
  19. One thing for sure, DD did a great job hiring Cora and letting Cashman find himself a doofus.
  20. I'm sure Cora learned a lot playing for Tito, so it's all good.
  21. I think the basic principle is you don't pinch-hit for them unless you're behind, or if you're tied or up one and the bases are loaded, that type of thing - strictly situational.
  22. Just use an LOL or (sarcasm) or something like that.
  23. Max is right though, Swihart has a package of skills that make him more than just a third catcher.
  24. Price doesn't have to say a word about it publicly. The fact that Leon is catching him every time out tells you everything you need to know - or it should.
  25. Hey, you forgot Devers! He sucks too.
