    I like to argue this crap, I have to admit. There's actually a painful reason for me making that point about rolls getting stopped. In the '86 playoffs the Sox won 5 straight games from ALCS Game 5 through WS Game 2, and they had the next 3 games at Fenway. Everyone knows the rest.

    Another way to look at it: 1st half: 1.37 HR per game 2nd half: 1.02 HR per game It's a 34% difference.

    There's a big difference - the Sox can't do much even if they want to. They've got their hands full just hanging onto the studs they have.

    In the Globe Cafardo has a piece suggesting the Yankees might be 'peaking at the right time'. I just saw the headline, didn't bother reading it. What's funny/stupid about his statement is that prior to these last 2 games, the Yanks had dropped 2 of 3 to the Jays, and before that 2 of 3 to the Twinkies.
