Barnes has a hip problem and is out indefinitely.
Starting to look like DD may have made a significant tactical error thinking the bullpen didn't need to be upgraded.
But the more interesting thing that's revealed is that the superior hitter gets the edge over the superior defender.
Not because stat geeks don't value defense enough. Because you just don't get as many chances to truly make a difference on defense as you do on offense.
Bogie is the superior player of course. The question is whether we'll be able to meet his free agent price. If we can't, Iglesias might be a possible candidate to replace him. He's become a fairly solid 2.5 WAR type guy at least...
You've said it yourself - he's a terrible catcher, probably shouldn't even be a catcher.
That makes him a DH who's having a bad season with the stick.
He's had one good season.
'Petition the Commissioner' strikes me as funny for some reason. Does this mean you have to craft a nice little begging letter like it's a tax appeal or something?
Severino just might be a victim of the so-called Verducci Effect because of his innings jump in 2017. Verducci only had 3 pitchers on his list for 2018. Severino was #3 on the list.
Sanchez dealt for an ace? His trade stock would be pretty low at the moment. Right now he's a DH with a 700 OPS + injury concerns + attitude concerns. Not a very attractive package. I think you'd be better trying to rehabilitate the guy somehow.
