  1. It is amazing, what may be more amazing is that they also did this in 2013.
  2. Clay put up such good numbers this year that some team will likely be willing to give him a deal. I'm guessing it would be a one-year deal with a small base plus incremental amounts for numbers of innings pitched.
  3. It's a small quibble, but you don't seem to be practicing what you preach when you tell others not to be heavily influenced by small samples and recent results. Over their careers, Moreland has been a better hitter than Holt and a better first baseman as well.
  4. Moreland may be heating up too? 4 hits and 3 walks in his last 3 games.
  5. Holt over Moreland would really be going with the *HOT HAND*.
  6. Brock Holt has had a pretty amazing upsurge in his OPS at the end of the year.
  7. He absolutely would have been here if Sheffield mowed us down. Didn't work out that way.
  8. I certainly agree that the players who are in the game are trying to perform. My only point is that the teams don't really care as you can see by the lineups and subs and pitching choices. It's gahbage time. And yes, it always feels better beating the Yanks than losing - even in actual pre-season games, crazy as it is.
  9. Where are our Yankee friends today? Don't they know this game is for the season series?
  10. Does it look to you like the Yanks care about this one?
  11. Yes, last year. Houston's 2017 bullpen had a 4.27 ERA - and they were even worse in the playoffs. Do you feel a little better now?
  12. Leon and Kelly in the game thread crosshairs today!
  13. He's done pretty well. Definitely worth considering on a reasonable deal. But he'll probably get an unreasonable deal from someone.
  14. Bogey So so? In September he is hitting 305/405/514 for a 919 OPS. Moreland - in his last 2 games he has 3 hits and 2 walks so he might be coming out of it just in time.
  15. It should be noted that the Astros and Guardians will have the same layoff as us. The only Final Four AL team with a shorter layoff will be the Wild Card winner.
  16. Winner take all game for the season series tomorrow!
  17. They lead it 9 to 9?
  18. Being the winningest and highest scoring team in baseball just isn't enough to impress people, I guess.
  19. Huh? Benintendi is hitting .290.
  20. What is it you're missing? The Yankees started German and followed with Tarpley. Then Lynn and Gray. Judge didn't start. Gregorius, Torres and Hicks have all been pulled. And you think they're treating it as a real game?
  21. Both teams are treating today's game as an exhibition game and will do so again tomorrow.
  22. Bull. The outcome of this series means zip. Both teams are using a motley crew of pitchers today.
  23. Look at the pitchers the Yankees are using in this game. Does it tell you anything about whether they care about winning or losing it?
  24. Don't forget the big added bonus of beating the A's - first you get to see the Yankees go one and done before their wonderful fans.
  25. But if he gave up a crooked number again this year, you'd probably like Oakland's chances. I'm guessing that teams that give up a crooked number lose a pretty high % of the time.
