  1. Sounds about right.
  2. In April/18 the Sox showed how to do the reprisal thing properly, when Joe Kelly drilled Tyler Austin of the Yanks after a hard slide. Do it right away and drill the guy in the back, that's how you do it.
  3. Oh yeah. The WAR numbers would be relatively small anyway. But it would be better than nothing.
  4. The Cora haters are nuts. I can see criticizing him for Restgate. But calling for him to be fired is absurd. Two seasons, one of which was fantastic. Who do they want next - Showalter, Scioscia, some other fossil? They don't know who they want. They just want someone else to s*** on.
  5. All they really have to do is tabulate using the same WAR model they use for the regular season. Should be a piece of cake.
  6. Like it or not, 1B is a change of positions involving different physical demands. He's never played there, not a single MLB game. Maybe he has been asked and has indicated that it's a bad idea.
  7. And DD didn't choose Farrell but Farrell stayed on, remember?
  8. You think they're all morons so what's the difference.
  9. Well, I don't really want you to self-ban. You're here rarely enough now as it is.
  10. Yes. But of course credited for his other contributions-defense and baserunning. I'm a firm believer that postseason numbers should be factored into player valuations SOMEHOW.
  11. One could also argue Price deserves extra credit for his 2018 postseason performance. I certainly would.
  12. He's Exhibit A at the moment. I can think of some others that did better when they left NY. A. J. Burnett, Melancon etc.
  13. What's kind of comical is the 'low-tech' way the info was allegedly relayed from dugout to hitter, i.e. banging on a garbage can...
  14. Unless they're pitchers.
  15. JD has played 800 games in the outfield and 0 at first base. There may be a reason for that. I'm sure it has crossed people's minds before this.
  16. I know. I just have the feeling this time is going to be different. This is a serious PR issue, with suggestions that it may have impacted who won the trophy in '17.
  17. Using technology to do it is the issue. I think we will see some penalties this time.
  18. In Canada we don't fool around. We impeached Don Cherry so fast he didn't know what hit him.
  19. Same principle. If the other side thinks you're being ridiculous they may turn their attention elsewhere.
  20. Either that or he really should get to work on his first base skills.
  21. So this story didn't catch your attention till Cora's name popped up? That's odd.
  22. You have to be careful though. Sometimes you get burned by unrealistic hopes. I suspect that Craig Kimbrel hurt himself quite a bit by asking for the moon last year.
  23. I already started a thread on this.
  24. Sure, make a bunch of unrealistic asks and walk away with nothing.
