  1. Well, he has been a bit on the erratic side, other than the innings pitched. I suspect the Manfred Missile hurt him in 2019. I wish we could have him back but I don't think we can fit him into the 2020 payroll pie.
  2. In the Red Sox 4 championship years, they posted the following record: 44 wins 14 losses .759 winning % Against the best opposition. Pretty incredible.
  3. How about titles won over the last 20 years? Boston 4 San Fran 3 Yankees 2 St Louis 2 Arizona 1 LA Angels 1 Miami 1 ChiSox 1 Philly 1 Kansas City 1 ChiCubs 1 Houston 1 Washington 1
  4. What position would Andujar play for the Cubs?
  5. I hoped you would appreciate that.
  6. Yes, Gorkys was pure evil.
  7. OK, I'll play. We won the division by 8 games. Mookie was 8.9 Wins Above Average. At the very least, we would have to play hard all the way just to win the division.
  8. You just nailed down the key to postseason success!
  9. Naturally you would.
  10. You also don't take half of anyone's salary away.
  11. Ben was the only one with last place seasons though...
  12. Agreed. A lot of the folks in the stands at Fenway now are just there because it's an event. But the NESN viewers are a different story.
  13. Well luckily we have an owner who doesn't rest on the laurels, as recent personnel changes have once again confirmed.
  14. I don't hate Lucchino either, not in the least. In fact I think he did mostly good things for the franchise.
  15. For me there's just no comparison. The overriding themes of being a Sox fan were disappointment and heartbreak, until 2004.
  16. It was a bit of a stretch. Let me be clear - I'm actually quite happy that DD is out and Bloom is in. I just think DD takes a little too much flak for what he did.
  17. OCab did a fantastic job. His defense was lights-out in the 2004 postseason. Theo deserves a statue just for making that trade.
  18. He really went downhill fast though. He was no Jeter.
  19. I think the real question is, how much better off are we with JD playing 1B for 10 games vs. playing OF for 10 games.
  20. It doesn't always work that way though. I was looking through attendance numbers last night after I posted that. The 2013 team actually drew less fans than the 2012 team.
  21. I agree. But I think we also have to be prepared for something wishy-washy on the test results, which will mean we have to wait until actual games are played to evaluate him.
  22. I'm not sure people realize how fortunate we have been to win 4 rings in 16 years.
  23. True. We were very fortunate with how everything shook out with Nomar. He was not the same player after 2003.
  24. It's pretty much all gravy for me now. From 1969 to 2003 I saw no titles. Now I've seen 4. Since Henry bought the team it's been a fantastic ride.
  25. The only thing that's off limits on this board is politics.
