  1. Let's say we don't (everyone here watches most games, but let's humor you). Do we need to watch the games to know CB is sucking?
  2. A lot of people who have soured on Buchholz (this guy included) have done after being ardent defenders of the guy for years. I've personally been CB's personal defense system in this site since 2009. That's a lot of time waiting for him to put it all together.
  3. That's the point right there.
  4. Ask a pitching coach, and he'll tell you he'd rather see the consecutive homers and not the walks. Nothing pisses coaching staffs more than walks.
  5. Carrasco is the only one of those guys I would sell part of the farm for. He has higher upside than Salazar (IMO). Quintana may see some regression at Fenway, since he's not a big K guy. I also doubt the CWS were actually interested in trading Quintana.
  6. In simpler terms: Implying he's the best of a (very deep) young core.
  7. If it's not an ace, why would you sell half the farm? That is the point.
  8. Where I come from we call that "rationalization". A bad outing is a bad outing is a bad outing.
  9. It's a legitimate discussion for a couple of reasons: First, to point just what a special core of young talent the Red Sox have amassed, and second, to justify the Benintendi hype. A lot of people are very very high on the kid, and since this is a place to discuss Red Sox prospects, it's good to see where the hype comes from. The point about Xander not reaching his power portential is valid. But to ignite further discussion, I am going to throw this out there: Mookie Betts is the true building block of the Sox' lineup. Thoughts?
  10. Overall 70, three talent evaluators, not just the hit tool. You are just some Joe regurgitating opinions from others, just like me, because none of us are talent evaluators. However, if you follow the minors as much as you say you do but can't completely grasp the concept of the impact position has on the overall standing on a prospect, we're just arguing for the sake of arguing here. The point is, Benintendi's a highly rated offensive prospect on his own, who'd be a top five guy right now if he played shortstop. The fact that you "read all the articles" does not make you an authority on prospect evaluation. My point of contention continues to be how your opinion invalidates all of the data/scouting on, and current production of Benintendi.
  11. It's colored indeed. Because Arrieta/Lester and that offense can keep them competitive in any short series. f*** Maddon though.
  12. E-Rod got fitted with a knee brace and should be about ready to re-start his rehab assignment. Getting him back is imperative for this team to stay in contention.
  13. Unless the names "Correa", "Machado", "Bryant", "Betts" or "Arenado" are immediately followed by "to headlight the package."
  14. Are you a talent evaluator? Because people who do this for a living see Benintendi as a 70-overall player, which is extremely rare. The point of contention is, what makes some of you think you can invalidate years of scouting with your opinions?
  15. Came here to post this.
  16. Any deal for a young, #1 guy starts with Bradley, Betts or Bogaerts.
  17. Hey, but Holt (who the team honestly can't trade), a lefty with no fastball command, a guy who broke his hand being a f***ing idiot, and another one getting treatment for anxiety would net us that elite young starter we're looking for!
  18. An elite RP still holds a value edge over a "decent" SP. If you're going to give up that much value for a meh or overpriced starter I am very glad you are not running this team, because it both hurts the farm and it's not getting an elite arm back. It's an issue of value.
  19. After several years at SS. He was ranked and scouted as a SS, and was presented in all scouting reports as a SS. His eventual landing spot is not a factor in the discussion of his prospect rankings.
  20. Oh, so Red Sox player discussion on a Red-Sox related website regarding prospects' ceilings is meaningless? Perhaps it would be better if we discussed Tug Hulett?
  21. The Red Sox boast one of the best young SS in all of baseball, but stemming from an argument with Jacko, I wish to ask the following question, who would you choose between them anchor a franchise and why. I chose Lindor citing that the gap between the offensive potential was nowhere near as wide as their defensive ability. Thoughts?
