  1. Really should quit with the annoying BS shouldn't he?
  2. What is it with you and fangraphs now? It's both unsettling and hilarious.
  3. Their game captured the imagination, and it sold well. The problem (again) is that he treated a startup like a big-market developer like, say, EA or Square-Enix. A small outfit like From Software was when they developed their first hit (Demon's Souls) had spent half of what 38S spent on Amalur's development cycle on their entire King's Field series and most of Demon's Souls, which is now Dark Souls/Bloodborne and an enourmous, multi-million dollar franchise.
  4. Is there even the slightest possibility that you take Farrell's balls off your face long enough to stop trying to stir up s*** where there is none? Farrell has been handling his business well (especially lineups and BP) as well as the baserunning, which is magnificent. Peoeple aren't whining about it, yet you continue trying to create controversy. Stop.
  5. The funding was not the problem. It was financial planning and unrealistic deadlines. In the end, I think Schilling fell prey to his own inexperience in the area of business management, and his own arrogance. I don't think, however, that any of it came with the desire to harm or deceive people. If anything, by all accounts he treated his employees like rock stars, and that's the main problem: He treated a startup like an established, billion-dollar sports franchise. Fwiw, I bought the game they made (Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning), and it was pretty good. There was a future there had the studio been better at managing their finances.
  6. But who here has criticized anything other than Farrell's in-game management? That's countering a point no one has brought up.
  7. This is my favorite Yankees team. Headley is my favorite Yankees player.
  8. So we are not allowed to express our viewpoints on his game management and assess other poeple's viewpoints on the issue? I didn't realize this was "talk certain things about the sox". I thought it was talksox, period. Also, no one here is objective. Everyone has their bias.
  9. Question (and this is aimed at you): Do you ever make a post that's not specifically whining or ranting about something? I am honestly curious, do you literally come here to vent?
  10. Obviously. It's not like Arrieta and Kershaw have only slightly higher AFV's than Price this year. Not aces.
  11. You're stats driven. Do advanced stats not apply here?
  12. No one in this thread has claimed he's a buffoon. However, as is expected, his moves are heavily dissected. I have admitted ho good he is at the other aspects of managing, but his in-game managing leaves a lot to be desired.
  13. You're young. You'll live.
  14. Yes, you're still wrong. If people want to complain about the start time (even though it changes nothing), they can. This is a public forum. If an opinion or complaint is not disrespectful and harms no one, it is welcome. Don't worry, one day you'll reach the real world and you'll be like "Goddamn, Kimmi's right, late games suck". Happens to all of us.
  15. Young better not f*** this up.
  16. It's a lefty starting, and a tough one.
  17. Price has been heavily criticized and scrutinized too. The problem is: A) Track record. Even in crappy starts, Price is going deep into games. Besides, the peripheral numbers point to Price being unlucky, and Clay just plain sucking.
  18. Yeah but in case you live under a rock, adults who need to be up by 5:00 AM to work so they can support themselves and their families cherish having games early so they can sleep and get proper rest.
  19. Vasquez.....he da real mvp.
  20. That's actually the game I was thinking about, but they won that one of course.
  21. I should have clarified. The comment wasn't aimed specifically at you, but rather at those who did.
  22. You are correct, however: 04/10 Vs vs Tor: Young starts vs Estrada (I assume the train of thought is that he has similar splits vs righties and lefties). 7th inning, 2-0 game, Estrada in his last inning. Shaw walks, and Young is allowed to his against Estrada and predictably fails with Holt and Panda on the bench and Storen warming up. 17/04 vs Toronto: Young starts vs Sanchez. 9th inning. Hanley singles, Shaw homers, Young K's against Osuna, who is very tough on righties, with Holt on the bench. Sox lose 5-3. Couple games later starts against another righty (Fiers), in a loss to Hou. I assume it's because Fiers has a slight reverse split. But Young is coming off a sub -600 OPS season against righties. I mean, I have clearly admitted the usage patterns have improved (no longer pinch hitting for Shaw, limiting exposure for righties) but that doesn't make it impossible to admit he handled Young crappily in the beginning of the season for the sake of "getting him AB's".
  23. One AB in a critical situation (loss @ Cleveland) can mean the difference between a win and a loss. Again, a bad decision is a bad decision in and of itself. I don't understand why this is such a problematic issue.
