  1. Look, if we choke at some point in the playoffs (or before), you'll never hear the end of this. If we win the WS, or lose to a superior team at any point in the playoffs, I'll shut up about it.
  2. Tell that to my coach.
  3. No, that's going too far. Can't have a non power hitter batting cleanup. With those particular set of players in the lineup, it should be: Pedey ® Bogaerts ® Mookie ® Hanley ® Sandoval (S) Benintendi (L) JBJ (L) Vazquez ® Holt (L) I know the top is too right heavy, but I don't want to mess with the dynamic that we had going in the second half of the year with Pedey, Xander, and Mookie.
  4. Maybe because they think that the presence of Chris Sale will finally bring us down at some point in the playoffs.
  5. I really like the look of that lineup. Does Sandoval fall down to 6th when Moreland is in the lineup? Plus, Leon in the 8th slot makes an almost lethal lineup IMO.

Seems like age has something to do with it. ESPN is still my go to for sports news and programming. I've grown up on SportsCenter.
  7. Like the Sale trade, I was never a big fan of this trade, but after seeing Pablo this spring, I understand the reasoning behind giving up Shaw for Thornburg. This sucks, because the offense will almost certainly not be as good as last year, so we can't win those 11-10 ball games any more.
  8. Yeah, my winter inactivity caused me to miss the draft, but like all champions do, I won't be making any excuses.
  9. Well, you'll only exposed to it if you follow the right/wrong people, like most people my age that like retweeting some pretty nasty stuff.
  10. I still see Vasquez as the catcher of the future. Leon's time is obviously limited, with an expiration date on his effectiveness sneaking up on us. Swihart's defense looks to be improved, as does Vasquez's offense, for that matter. If we could get morph the two somehow, getting Swihart's bat, and Vasquez's defense/instincts as a catcher, life would turn out alright.
  11. And I was remarking about Twitter's tendency to let users post just about anything, including porn itself.
  12. Certainly not me, but the impression I got from a couple of different online stories was that he'll be good to go in a couple weeks. He still might need therapy, and frequent off days, but they implies that he could and should be back by mid to late April.
  13. Alright, I like the sound of that. But, still we're not talking about anything long term here with Hanley, so at worst, he can only DH for what, all of April?
  14. I don't know about appearances, but I think he'll get plenty of saves. Part of the reason why his appearances were so low last year is because of the injury he had in the middle part of the season. With the Blue Jays and Orioles also forming legit WS contenders in this division, all of the 38 combined games against those two are expected to be close. I see the AL as really wide open this year. There's obviously Cleveland and Texas, but I think the Astros are going to be really good, Seattle to make a push for the WC, and the Tigers to be contend as long as they stay healthy. I think there will be plenty of save opportunities. I wouldn't be surprised to see 60-65 appearances, and if all goes right, 40+ saves.
  15. I thought he was going to be the full time DH? Did I miss something here? Wasn't Moreland supposed to be playing 1B for the majority of the season? I guess this is what happens when you don't really follow Spring Training.
  16. Yeah, they use the red caps, or blue with a red brim, for batting practice during the regular season. I own one of the blue ones, with a red B and red brim. IIRC when I bought it online, it set "Batting Practice Cap" or something like that.
  17. It's owned by Twitter, so that is quite possible.
  18. I believe Periscope is the newest, greatest live streaming service.
  19. Either way, I have a major problem with him. I wish Dombrowski never made that trade.
  20. Can I include the nonsense that I get myself into when I'm out there as an umpire? Some of the coaches I deal with make me wanna do some weird things...
  21. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Chris Sale is a poison. He will cost this team the World Series. They'll still get to the playoffs, maybe even make the World Series. But he's proven himself to be a shithole of a teammate, and at some point, that's going to cost this team. From the start, I've hated him. I was appalled when the news of the trade broke.
  22. Oh boy! Kelly or Barnes as a set up man? This is what I've always dreamed of.
  23. Not a bad guess. I do want to keep Dahl and Desmond around though.
