  1. I don't dislike Joe Morgan as much as other people do. I think that he contributes something useful about the way that the game is played, unlike other commentators that go on and on about how batters were stranded on the on-deck circle.
  2. Lackey has looked like the pitcher we were expecting when we signed him. Performing well in a big time game.
  3. At least it isn't Joe Buck commentating. Be thankful.
  4. Whew, inning's still alive.
  5. Francona hasn't started Lowrie much this season. Injury concerns? And Navarro comes through in the clutch, lol.
  6. MIKEY LOWELL Let's get something going!
  7. The Sox have hit a couple balls hard off Shields, they just didn't quite go far enough.
  8. Come on Papi...
  9. I don't mind Joe Morgan as much as his partner. At least Morgan sometimes says something relevant to the game.
  10. Cmon Ortiz. I wish the commentators would shut the f*** up about VMart "acting". If they knew anything about the type of person he is, they would shut the f*** up and go back to masturbating about whatever they were drawling about back in the 5th.
  11. f*** San Francisco. That was a terrible road trip.
  12. If it's relatively close in ERA and wins, they'll definitely take higher strikeout numbers. See: Lincecum vs. Carpenter/Wainwright, Johan vs. Lincecum, etc. Buch's also got far fewer IP than CC or Price, and similar wins. I think he has at best an outside shot at the Cy Young, but I don't think he'll be taking it.
  13. It's the Mariners offense, so that's basically like 7 runs by a competent team.
  14. The Yankees have $69 million to work with next season. Assuming Rivera and Jeter cost $35 million a season roughly, that's $34 million. Add in some arbitration and that's maybe $25 million. Not a lot of money remaining to get Lee. Of course, the Yankees could just increase their payroll. I doubt the Sox will tie up 3 large contracts to pitchers that will be about 35 when those contracts end (Beckett, Lackey, and Lee). The Angels are probably set after acquiring Haren for peanuts, but I suppose they could make a run at him. The Dodgers probably don't have much in the way of finances with that divorce. I think the likeliest scenario is that the Rangers and Yankees bid for Lee, unless Dice-K somehow gets traded. 15. Maybe the Sox will make a move for Napoli?
  16. Rivera isn't going anywhere. Downs will cost a first rounder. Other than that I'd like any of those guys. Dodgers would want payroll relief more than anything else, IMO. If they have any high-salary relievers, I don't think it would cost much in prospects.
  17. Cy Young voters like strikeouts. Buchholz doesn't have many. ERA also isn't everything to them.
  18. Another reason Werth is a better option than Crawford - team needs right-handed bats, with Kalish and Ellsbury both being left-handed, and the fact that two of the three big 1B free agents next year (AGon and Fielder) are lefthanded, and I feel like the Red Sox might not be able to get Pujols.
  19. If VMart takes less money, he can return if he projects long-term as a 1B/DH. He wants to come back, but it remains to be seen how much money he gets. I'd like to see Beltre come back, and I think his chances of returning are better than a lot of people think it is, but it's probably lower than 50/50. Youkilis hasn't said he won't play 3B, he just said he doesn't want to move around 50 times in a season, which is a reasonable request. I think a one-year deal for a 1B is the right and most likely decision here, though I don't like Lee or any of the lefties except Dunn (who will get multiple years). I like Dojji's idea of getting Napoli better than getting Lee. The key at the corners is to keep the commitments short, because 2011 is going to be a monster free agency. I don't think Lowrie or Scutaro have the arm to play 3B. If someone gets signed in the offseason for OF (which I don't think will happen), it's more likely to be Werth than Crawford IMO, since Crawford is too similar of a player to Ellsbury. The only way that would change is if Ellsbury gets dealt (for say, Matt Kemp?), and even then I think I'd rather have Kalish taking the reigns than Crawford. Ortiz is probably going to return. He has a club option I think. Money needs to get spent on the bullpen somehow.
  20. Damn that looked so good coming off the bat.
  21. The Sox have been awfully free swingers this game.
  22. I know, it was sarcasm. It's my favorite Angels' pitcher! Jepsen! Wooooooooo
