Crawford is better and younger and Tito wants him. If Crawford wants to play here..we will be offering him a HUGE contract. That interview with Tito last week was very telling IMO. I am pretty sure we are getting Crawford and trading for Gonzalez at some point this year.

Konerko and Reinsdorf are very tight. If the Sox are going to put a 1 or 2 year deal on the table, Konerko will get that from White Sox.

I agree 100% with the above post. Werth is a solid player..like Lackey, who will be VASTLY overpaid at 5 years 15-18 mill per. If you are going to spend that kind of money in THIS FA market there are two players worth the investment..Crawford and Lee.

Mike Lynch of WCVB had breaking news last night.. says the Red Sox are pressing hard for Crawford. The Sox willing to offer 4 and 5 years deal at $20M per season. THIS is the guy I want! I think they are going to get Crawford. Tito went on WEEI a few days ago and was very complimentary of Crawford calling him a "Game Changer"..

The Ells/Kalish/Kelly would most definitely be acceptable to Hoyer right now....in fact..he'd probably drive A-Gone to Fenway for his press conference. Theo will not trade for A-Gone unless he is sure that the Labrum he just had surgery on is fully healed. I think we will just buy him next year.

I don't want Jeter on the Sox! He is in a STEEP decline and he will only get worse. I will laugh my a$$ off if the Yankees pay him $15 mill per year for the next 3 years. Rivera deserves that money more than Captain Intangibles. I would make a nice offer to Rivera..he could be very useful.

Kelley/Rizzo/Ellsbury is what Pads will ask for if we want Gonzo.

Let's give Lackey the benefit of the doubt.. He has a proven track record as a winner.. He was working with the WORST defensive catcher in the game.. No arm, game-calling skills, or receiving skills. I am glad I will not have to see Victor behind the dish. Had we let Papi walk and signed Victor as STRICTLY and EMERGENCY catcher and full-time DH I would have been happy.. He is worth more than Papi at DH as he CRUSHED lefties and usually hits well vs RHP though he stumbled a bit last year off his career avg's.

Theo is not impressing me at all. I was not a fan of the Victor Martinez trade to begin with. Masterson could have been a HUGE help to our pen this year and I know Vic is a stud hitter but he is perhaps the worst defensive catcher in the game. Being a former catcher I can tell you his mechanics are terrible.. His arm is a wet noodle..and his receiving skills are abyssmal. He is a DH and I am glad we did not pay 13 mill a year for a DH..we are already overpaying Ortiz in that slot. I firmly believe Beckett and Lackey's putrid seasons would not have been nearly as bad with a a good defensive catcher. Varitek can handle a staff and I believe Salty will be an overall improvement over Martinez for the pitching staff..his offense will be gravy. I think we should bring in an Olivo, Molina, Laird as they have strong arm and can handle a staff. Theo had better f***$ing start making some moves to fill other needs. I am sick and tired of his wait and see approach. If we don't sign either Werth or Crawford and some pen arms he should be fired.

Yeah..that would be great... Then we could watch him begin another DL Train.. His knees are toast.. Terrible idea.

Jeter will get what he wants. He has leverage on his side. Yankee fans would be irate if he ever played for another team...I will enjoy watching the Yankees pay $15-18 mill a year for a player who isn't worth $5 mill..if it based on production.

McAdam is saying the D-Bags want 3 of Ellsbury/Bard/Kelly/Kalish. I would be ecstatic if we could do this without giving up Bard. You could deal Bard/Kelly/Kalish and have an OF of Upton(RF)/Ellsbury(CF) and Drew(LF). I think Ellsbury is the guy they REALLY want. I also believe if the Sox offered Ellsbury/Bard/Kelly..the deal would be done yesterday. Theo is trying to get a 3rd team involved because AZ has stated he wants ML ready players and Kelly would be VERY attractive to a rebuilding team who may have a ML outfielder or good back-end reliever to send to AZ once they acquire Kelly from Sox. I cannot see Theo giving up both Bard and Ellsbury without exploring all other possibilities but in the end..if that is what it takes to get a future 30/30/120/GG caliber OF with a BAZOOKA for an arm.. so be it. Then we sign Soriano and Downs to bolster pen.
