  1. Come on guys, let's just drop this thing please?
  2. This too, but for someone like Hanley I still think most prices would be acceptable, he's a machine who can hit in the 25 home run range, and of course he's a very tough out, one of the best players in baseball
  3. Can you imagine what we could do with Hanley? I just don't know if Florida would part with him, but if he was an option, yeah he beats Hardy eight days a week
  4. There's so many reasons why Hardy may actually benefit from playing here
  5. Exactly, this is just one of those things that we really can't afford to not atleast try to get done. Hardy is the best option out there. His off year makes him cheaper, his upside is that he's a 25-85 guy who can play the position better than most
  6. It's usually the pitchers who struggle to adapt to the American Leagues more than anything
  7. Lowrie isn't proven, and Hardy's past years have been much better. It's worth the risk, and Milwaukee is most likely willing to part ways with him. The payoff is worth it if we can get his prodcution of the two previous seasons, and if not, he still beats the hell out of Gonzo, and we've successfully upgraded
  8. Definitely, J.J. Hardy: Worth the risk
  9. Drinking? What are you talking about man, why would anyone want to drink before they're 21? ; )
  10. Why don't you try and compare his stats to those of Gonzo's instead of making a statement like that. Here, I'll even help you out Gonzo has a similar (Slightly higher) batting average than Hardy does through this season. While his OBP for the year may be pitiful, Gonzo's OBP is even worse, not to mention Hardy (while having a down year) still has shown more pop than Gonzo has Finally, we've established that he's better in the field than Gonzo is So basically, we've established that he's a better all around player than Gonzo, and not to mention, if his mechanics can be corrected, he's going to be back to being a .275-.330-25 home run type of player
  11. Thank you, and even this year in total (don't take that out of context) he's been superior than Gonzo has offensively. Yeah maybe Gonzo's been playing at a higher level with the Sox, but overall this year Hardy still has better numbers
  12. Yes, and it's most likely a fixable mechanics issue, I'd guess he gets his old swing back, and if not, it's atleast worth a try, and he's apparently an upgrade defensively, not to mention younger and has more pop (by far)
  13. There you have it. Not to mention his previous years he's been superior offensively (in many ways) than Gonzo
  14. Yeah, OBP tells a lot more than Batting Average does, and this argument started basically over someone calling Gonzo an "offensive threat" because he is hitting ".290 or something for the year". It wasn't about his defensive worth, which is very solid (but I've said Hardy isn't incompetent defensively, and is definitely a possible upgrade)
  15. Absolutely fabulous. I would put it in the sig, but I don't think you can put that much in a sig. But this is wonderful
  16. Well OBP is your ability to not make an out, and batting average is, as stated, very incomplete, and therefore obsolete as a statistic. I think someone said it's not complicated, which is very true, it's just your ability to get on base and make something happen. If your OBP is 30% then you're not a very good offensive weapon, as some have claimed in this argument. I think for an argument, using BA as a point when your OBP is only ten points higher is a no-no
  17. Word
  18. His son is notoriously cheap as well, I live here, I know, and his son is about 70 some years old too. He's cheap, the Polahds are all cheap *******s, so I am very worried about not signing Mauer, considering that he's one of our two players who could easily be considered Top 5 caliber in the AL. I love the Sox, it'd be cool to see them get someone like Mauer, but tbh? I'd rather see him stay with the Twins, without him the Twins are going to be pitiful
  19. If you like what is in your name in that order, you must be hardcore man, but either way, welcome to the forum!
  20. Stop watching the Sox in person plz
  21. : \ Ummm, welcome?
  22. dam rite he iz!!!11!oneone!1eleven
  23. Gonzo is not a long-term option, I'd like to see a deal soon, I hope we don't try to keep him on for another two years or whatever, I think that's a huge mistake
  24. Anything around .300 or lower is pretty pitiful, and yeah .350 is what is "good" and above obviously better
