  1. What about all those BC years? Doesn't time before Christ matter?
  2. Like I said, I'd find it tough to believe there are many good reasons to pass up on making $13M in about half of a calendar year, when most people can't even make that kind of money in 30 years. Especially when you consider he's coming off a terrible season, and with his age, is unlikely to ever make this kind of money in FA ever again. If there is a good reason for it, I can guarantee it's pretty serious, whether it's mental or physical.
  3. I hate how glamorized it is, every big market team gets the good trades, the good free agents, and they act like dbags purposely to get more followers on Twitter. It hurts the distribution of talent, and also, the Timberwolves are just never good anymore. We lose KG and it's all over, I remember in '04 when we were a top 3 team in the entire NBA, we made it to the finals, and that was the last time we made the playoffs. I can't believe that was 10 years ago, I remember how stoked I was that we got Sprewell and Cassell, 10 years later that was the last year we made it to the playoffs. Time really flies, even when you're not having any fun.
  4. Easiest $13M he'll never make. Gotta agree that the guy's not too smart, regardless of how much money he has right now, you can never have too much of it. I'd love to have $1,300 right now, $13M to pitch once every 5 games for several months, and if you get injured, you still get your checks... I can't see why you'd ever pass on that. Maybe he really does have some sort of illness, maybe he's going through some kind of "midlife crisis" type of thing, and would rather just not do anything. I could see that, afterall someone said he's getting divorced.
  5. Same as they used to look pretty much. The ones from the last few years sucked.
  6. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/10403896/curt-schilling-diagnosed-cancer Wow.
  7. Jameis Winston really raped the Tigers on that last drive. LOL soz had to.
  8. Do you really want a pitcher who's last name is that close to Ballfour?
  9. Well the NBA is just f***ed like that. Really not many teams that have a shot. Pretty damn lame how Miami just bought themselves titles more or less, like it's baseball and they're the Yankees or something. And it will happen again now because of that, players jumping ship on their teams to form a super team, and then acting like complete ass holes to recreate themselves as a heel personality. The NBA is starting to look a lot like professional wrestling in that way.
  10. On PEDs and the HOF: Starting to get to the point that I just don't care about PEDs anymore. Everyone's accused of being a juicer if they hit 50 home runs anyways, and now we're talking about Pujols being held out of the HOF because of an accusation. We aren't even talking about proof, this is an accusation that some seem to be making a stink about. If it were to come out tomorrow that he was juicing, I wouldn't feel this way, but the witchhunting is just getting out of hand. Nevermind the fact that Bonds has never actually tested positive for steroids, as obvious as it may be, but he's currently being held out of the hall on suspicion. I can see it either way, the players of the past didn't have steroids to obtain their records, but they also didn't have GMs who are limiting the amount of pitches they can throw or managers taking them out for platooning reasons. You can make the argument that steroids is just an evolution of the game.
  11. Were "Paatmaann" and "TheSawx" also Dutchy? They're banned now, but they looked like Dutchy names. If so, I still got the knack.
  12. That's the new thing, you don't need to be able to type out complete sentences, you talk on forums the way that you text your buddies. It's unreal how stupid people are starting to sound, and it isn't even ending with typing, people are bringing that stupid s*** to their actual verbal discussions, not realizing how retarded it is to say "hashtag" when you're talking to someone.
  13. Saw video on MLBN a few days ago and I thought he was short. Apparently he's just stout. Oh well.
  14. I guess he's 6'2, just googled it.
  15. It is about size though, most pitchers are 6'2 or higher, and it's because you're at an advantage. Not that it isn't about his stuff, I just immediately pass on most short pitchers unless they have outstanding pitches and can throw them 100 times a game and be consistent. Haven't seen much of him, certainly not enough to assess his "stuff", but the first thing that crossed my mind was that he's short.
  16. The reason Dutchy gets banned isn't because he can formulate sentences, it's because he can't be civil about it. He gets personal anytime someone has an opinion that isn't the same as his own, and he doesn't really seem to be aware of any other opinion.
  17. Is he THAT good? Honestly, he's like 5'9, and how many successful pitchers are under 6 feet tall?
  18. Good deal, glad to see the Yanks continuing to roll with the geezers.
  19. I love guys who have significantly better OBP than BA, but 18M is a lot of money.
  20. Yeah, how do you think he translates to that park...
  21. Quite honestly, the bargain of the century.
  22. No, that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying that if there's a 30+ year old power hitter, you should definitely sign him until he's 40 to make 30M/yr.
  23. I'm mostly interested in the prospects that we have coming up, but I trust in whatever TR does. I could see this team winning anywhere between 75 and 85 games. We will see.
  24. The Sox will be fine. If they lose a few more games and, gulp, miss the postseason, it's probably just because they came down to earth a little bit. They should just stay the course they were on and build the farm for sustained success, and stay away from big name free agents.
  25. Hopefully he can stay healthy.
