  1. I would definitely go for that. And Hell, Prince actually edges Tex out in most of those stats, aside from RBI and BA. Not sure, but I'd really, really like to make some kind of move for Hardy, maybe land both in the same deal would be nice, but he's better in the field than Gonzo, and has a tremendous upside. Not to mention, his bad year (Which is still superior to the year Gonzo is having), will probably bring his cost down significantly If we could get all these pieces, we'd be very, very competitive next season, especially consider how competitive we are this season. I think that lineup would be a force to be reckoned with for all times, and even better if Hardy were to rebound. As far as pitching, if we were to land King Felix, and as stated, it would be costly, very costly, as well as that 5th starter, such as Harden (Who would also most likely come at a reduced price, due to his injury plagued past), they could have one of the best rotations as well. We'd really have to break the bank to do all of this, and of course not all moves are likely, but it's jizz-in-your-pants-esque to think about the possibilities. (For the record, I do realize that if we were able to fork over for Prince and Hernandez, it would be very unlikely that we would be able to pay up for Hardy, but I'm just saying, it COULD happen)
  2. What a great contribution to the thread, italistaliwhateveryournameis
  3. Harden>Bedard
  4. Welcome to the forum, Jim : )
  5. If this is a response to this: Then, what I was trying to say is that if the law of averages is applicable, then the fact that we have their number is applicable. I've said this before: It doesn't matter what happened last year, during the regular season, etc etc. The postseason is unpredictable, some teams get better, some teams fall apart. It's the reason why teams like the 1987 Twins, or the 1990 Twins were able to win the World Series. It's just that unpredictable. Same thing with that Cardinals team in 2006. Maybe those are just a few examples, but the best team during the regular season doesn't mean anything but a home field advantage. Remember that Seattle Mariners team that won 116 games, was it in 2001? Yeah, they also had a hard time making it through the ALDS, and they lost in the ALCS to the Yanks. Just goes to show, you can dominate everyone, all year long, and look like one of the best teams in the history of baseball, but then struggle through the playoffs against lesser teams
  6. That's really saying a lot I just think using law of averages as an argumentative tool is about the worst thing you can do. It takes away all of your credibility. There's simply no place for it here
  7. The Law of Averages simply doesn't apply here, and I have no idea how you use it as an argumentative tool, it gives you no leverage in this case. We have their number in the postseason, simple as that. To say they will eventually beat us due to "the law of averages" is illogical.
  8. "As useless as a 2004 World Series ticket at Yankees Stadium". Has to be one of the best lines in a first post in Talksox history.
  9. I love ya already. Welcome to the forum
  10. That just doesn't sound right, it sounds like something to do with sodomy Painful stuff yo : p
  11. Mhm, true enough
  12. Oh yeah, and of course he was gloating
  13. Idk... Gom's reply Your call, just looks like someone was trying to make an implication, but that's just me : p
  14. I never claimed he said that those championships have an impact RIGHT FRIGGIN NOW. But he was implying that they somehow did have an impact on how they've played recently, which doesn't make sense in the least, because they've played very poorly recently in October. We weren't talking about over the past 80 years. We're talking recently, which I consider the past 5 or so years personally.
  15. He replied to a post that was basically "They have sucked in October recently" with "We have 26 World Series titles".
