  1. True story, you'll learn in time
  2. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=On+base+percentage
  3. Grrrr
  4. Yup, he's not a black hole, per se, but he isn't exactly lighting it up, which is what some people have attempted to lead others to believe. I was simply getting a few things out there before we thought of Gonzo as an offensive weapon, which he isn't, the OBP is not good at all, even with this being one of his best offensive stretches. I think there are two main points that have been discussed, that is: We need an upgrade for the future, like you say he's not a long-term replacement. Hardy is the tops of the list IMO. And the other point, which is totally off-topic, but has come to surface is: his batting average is, for one, NOT .290 for the season, and even if it was, his OBP sucks, it's horrendous. I'm all in for keeping him there for the remainder of the games, he's by far the best we have right now, but I'd upgrade to Hardy ASAP
  5. Yes, and OBP says Gonzo gets out 70% of the time, and it's even worse when you look at his career, and even more importantly this season overall
  6. Not to mention Hardy is pretty damn good in the field himself, plus he's capable of hitting 25 bombs. Of course this was an off year, but I'm still more than willing to take that chance
  7. Huh?
  8. He pitched pretty much lights out this year, for the majority atleast, but yeah he hasn't had a season anything like it
  9. Meh, Jackson is a beast when he's on, and his ERA is around 3.4 which is pretty solid. He's better than Porcello, but he's not anything like Verlander
  10. Just looking at the records, yeah, you notice that Detroit is definitely the weaker team. And yeah, their rotation is of Verlander, Porcello and guys who are either unproven or not very good. Of course we'd rather play them than the Angels, even if we have had success against them. Also, it'd be nice to have the Yankees face off against the Angels Edit: Forgot about Edwin Jackson, guy's a beast
  11. I hate not being able to play any sports without sucking immensely
  12. Wily Mo Pena of fast-pitch doesn't sound half bad either
  13. I was thinking more like the Adam Dunn of fast-pitch
  14. He said this season, and I corrected him, because that is about .050 off of his real batting average, which is very significant in my book. He simply can't hit, I think we've shown that
  15. Hardy is a great defender as well, not to mention he blows him out of the water offensively. Also, like CD says, that is a pitiful OBP, sorry
  16. Not to mention inaccurate ones, he's hitting .234 this season, look it up, do some research before posting Honestly?
  17. .299 OBP for the year in question, .271 this season total, and his career OBP is .293 To put it bluntly, he sucks offensively
  18. I'm sorry, but hitting in the .250 range is bad, the lower range being terrible, and what you consider "bad" (.245) is pitiful. You offer... Strikeouts? Almost every team averages over .255, in fact only 4 teams average under .255 this season.
  19. If you have no TV you can watch..... Nothing : (
  20. I'd try to get Hardy over Gonz any day.
