  1. your argument is based entirely off of assumption, the biggest one being that he will regain his prime form. What suggests he will regain form, when he's statistically trending downward? the other two assumptions you're making are that Lester wasn't in the game mentally, and that the team's poor play is to blame for this. A lot has to go right for you to be right.
  2. Would you still consider Lester a quality starter, though? Everyone's making the assumption that Farrell is the reason for his successes, and lack thereof.
  3. The first point was that they are a failed team. What was the Yankees goal, and did they meet that goal? I'll answer for you: World Series and no, they got wrecked. They failed. The Red Sox are irrelevant to the subject as to whether or not the Yankees belonged in the ALCS, and the actual statement in question was that they didn't look like they beloged. Being that they made it, they obviously belong in the ALCS, but they got s*** on by the Tigers.
  4. C'mon guys, you know damn well that wearing pinstripes prevents 99% of all injiries. Just ask Jacko, he's a doctor.
  5. Yeah, Swish at 15M a year after all the pissing and moaning over A-Gon and Drew for the last 3 years. That sounds like a stellar idea.
  6. Yeah, Gomez can crush the ball. multiple time 20-hr hitter, but Ross is ideal as far as fenway power goes.

  8. MVP is a value award, and Trout was more valuable. Oh well, I don't care that Cabrera won it, it was a great accomplishment.

  10. I just don't have time like I used to.
  11. Why are we even talking about these guys like Lohse/Dempster/Guthrie? Sounds like a recipe for building a really old and s***** starting rotation.
  12. Lee is old and gets paid way too much.
  13. Yankees of NFL.
  14. "3-0 with real refs". Just like every other Pats fan, effing entitled.
  15. The Twins. LOOOOOL fml.

  20. Often is a great pitcher, but I two hate loosing too him
  21. I'm just guessing that you didn't comprehend my post very well. How many of that sample do you think ACTUALLY had a noticeable decline at 30/31? WAR also doesn't mean jack s*** in terms of offensive decline, because WAR is an all-purpose statistic. NEXT!
  22. Der Sox done got dem der bo' pen catcher I tell ya.
  23. Yeah, that's why many elite players have their best years 30+. That doesn't mean jack diddly squat in anyone's case, because it's just a study. It applies to the sample in only half of the cases most likely.
  24. Ok, so players have a drop off at 33-35. So I'm right.
  25. If someone proves that players lose their eliteness at 30, I will not discuss the Sox getting Mauer ever again. A player's prime is usually between ages 27-32, this basically kills that theory. Considering that Mauer isn't a power hitter, the skill that diminishes first, I'm not worried about him declining. He has a sweet, smooth swing, and I could see him hitting over .300 well into his 30s. Comparing a player to a position is absolutely foolish, you compare to skill sets. Mauer's skill set translates well going forward IMO.
