  1. That's about the only good highlight against the Yanks besides Youk's homerun in walk-off fashion.
  2. Actually, I forgot about Hanley Ramirez, I would take him instead as well.
  3. When we need home field advantage in game 7 of the ALCs against the Yankees in extra innings (if it goes that much), we won't have it. We still have a decent chance with our pitching, but without home field advantage, odds are against us. Besides, the Yankees showed us that they can beat us. If they win tomorrow they would have basically won the whole second half. Not a great way going into the playoffs against your rival. But IMO Drew can barely hit, period. But he is better than Baldelli who has been resting all season. I like Baldelli, but he won't do much coming in cold.
  4. Sorry, I'm not satisfied until we clinch. And, I don't like handing the Yanks the division. Sure, they are probably going to win it. But I want to see us run them down and make it hard. Then we can rest against the teams that matter less. I had no problem resting Drew- it was a lefty against Sabathia. Drew is better than Baldelli, but it's reasonable because Baldelli was a righty against Sabathia. But Lowrie and Anderson? I like Lowrie, but throwing him out there against the Yanks after injury? Not sure if that's the way to go. Batters 7 through 9 were like free outs...
  5. Well, maybe we could try starting one with Bowden. If you think about it, it looks like we're not going to get any trades done then, because every team wants Buchholz and he's an untouchable as far as we know.
  6. Remember Dice-K and the mythical gyroball? ...
  7. Well, next year we will need a shortstop. Several people don't want Gonzo to come back. Several mentioned JJ Hardy. Well, I think we can get someone even better: Troy Tulowitzki. I say we package Bowden in a deal and try to land Tulo. He can hit with power and field decently. I think he would be a great addition. I think Gonzo has been great, but landing Tulowitzki would be sooooooooooo much better IMO... Maybe trade Josh Reddick and Bowden in a deal?
  8. Surprisingly, Buchholz has been great. Can't disagree here.
  9. I eventually figured it out, thanks.
  10. This is one of those games where you need to shield your eyes folks. And I agree, Dice-K was great. The rest of the team was not. I blame Francona... I mean starting Anderson? You've got to be kidding me...
  11. Oh, my bad then. I have no idea. I thought it was Wakefield, but I guess not.
  12. I think I know who it is now. He should be He who should not pitch.
  13. I guess... Never mind, stupid post on my part.
  14. DelCLOWNboy's coming out for even a bigger beating!
  15. Doesn't surprise me. We did this every time in the past when Brad Penny, John Smoltz and occasionally Wakefield (see last start) can't go more than 5. It's a common issue for the Sox this season. That's why it has often failed us. But like the above poster said, we're not really using anyone that will be in our pen in a post season game.
  16. Just when this game looks like it is getting better, it's getting worse.
  17. His season is over. He can't hit for anything and he can't throw anyone out. Sit him down and have Kotchman and Lowell share time as opposed to having him in the mix. He's absolutely a disgrace on this team right now. He doesn't deserve to be here playing like this.
  18. Glad to see Joba out of the game.
  19. I never said Gonzalez had a better career than JJ Hardy... although I don't know if you're referring to what I said or not... in any case, we're stuck with Gonzo for this year. This headhunter usually always pitches well against us...
