  1. With just the Red Sox he's hitting much higher than that.
  2. Exactly, and even so Gonzo's hitting like .280, so for 2009 it's irrelevant. However, every other year it isn't.
  3. 2 run homer for O's, now 7 to 2.
  4. I really want Dice-K to go at least 6, but I hope for seven.
  5. Yeah, I didn't consider .255 as that bad. I'd consider .245 or lower as bad, but .250 is still ok with me if you put up stellar defense with it. With a .250 average, you can still offer some offense.
  6. I actually thought Wagner would be a bust to be honest, but he's been great so far. Glad we picked him up.
  7. I'm sorry, but in 2006, Wily Mo Pena had a monster season. He wasn't bad as a starter then... I actually preferred him.
  8. I say V-Mart. I'm fine with him as catcher so long as he can hit, which he has shown he can do. Maybe pick someone else up so he can soplit time there. But please don't bring Mr. Varitek "DP" back.
  9. I knew it from the start. I can't say how much I love bringing back Alex Gonzalez. He's been sensational. He's not only played the stellar defense we expected him to, he's also hitting like .280 or around there. This was a great deal. A-Gon may very well be my favorite player on this team at this point right now.
  10. We also close against them too.
  11. It was stupid not to jump into this deal to get Cliff Lee. V-Mart is overrated, but it would have made sense to get him with a great pitcher (one that is cheaper than Halladay). Now there is no point IMO to sign V-Mart. He single-handedly won't help this team. Cliff Lee would help us so much. Too late now.
  12. I agree, not sure about Kelly, but I'd trade Buchholz and him for Halladay. Makes sense to me.
  13. Let me just say it: He's no Manny Ramirez.
  14. I don't remember it, but he has had some good things. I'm overreacting a bit... however Holliday would be much greater than Drew (IMO).
  15. Well, all I have to say is that I have seen no reason to like JD Drew. Since he's been a Red Sox, the only successful hit I have remember him make is the grand slam in 07 ALCS... that's it...
  16. Dwayne Wise himself made his career right there. An icing to the perfect game and an even bigger achievement by Buehrle.
  17. You really think one of those four mentioned pitchers will go deep into games without giving up to many runs or throwing too many pitches? I think Cliff Lee is the answer. I like Halladay, but he's too much to trade for, so Lee will do.
  18. Actually, I was talking about Matt Holliday, the outfielder for the Oakland Athletics. Not Roy Halladay, the starting pitcher for Toronto Blue Jays.
  19. I don't mind DHing Holliday either, there's just no space. But I'd still want Matt Holliday. Dhing Holliday is better than Ortiz batting .225 or whatever it is.
  20. What a great start to the game at the top of the first (sarcasm).
