  1. This guy has no idea what he is talking about. It's baseball, it's supposed to be a long game. Makes the money's worth too. If he can't agree, he shouldn't be holding a job as an ump.
  2. about the Red Sox. They have the pitching. theo just needs to trade for a good bat. If he can get a decent batter or two, cut Ortiz, then we're in the race. But if not, we won't score enough runs to support our stellar pitching. I'm negative because I like to be critical when things aren't as they should be. this team can be better constructed. The pitchers are great, but the team deserves a better offense. It isn't as good as everyone thinks. We need another bat.
  3. Doesn't dispute the fact he only hit a measely .238 last year.
  4. The Rays will be amazing this year. Boston will be watching the playoffs with the lineup they have. And you can never count the Yankees out.
  5. I change my prediction. Tampa takes the division. Yankees get WC. Wtach it happen. If I'm wrong, it's vice versa, but one thing is I don't think the Sox will make it. You've heard me speak or type... whatever... my predictions have been correct in the past. I predicted the Yankees nearly taking the division in 2007 after their horrible start, Tampa being great in 2008 (this annoyed so many people that I was right on this one), and Rockies for Wild Card in 2009. Now this is my prediction this year: Tampa and Yankees.
  6. You'll see. There are other reasons this team is failing. But Francona is one big one. His decisions will cause this team to fail, just like he busted our bullpen last year. And Wakefield should be in the bullpen as long relief or mop-up. That could solve problems, but no. We have to have his inconsistent starts.
  7. After TWO games? Wake up. The guy hit .238 last year. His only role was a hitter and he failed at that, all last year. He used to be the best hitter, my favorite player. That is all but gone now. He's finished. Time to get rid of him and get a new DH somewhere down the line. *cough* Matt Holliday should be on this team *cough*. Until then, the next best thing we have to a DH is either Lowell or Hermida. At least they are not an instant out like Ortiz. He got one hit yesterday I know. Whoop de doo, we still lost and he only got one hit in three games. It won't get better.
  8. Fine. I'll leave again. That's what you all want anyway. I just sometimes can't resist coming here and talking about this team. But yopu're right. I should go. It's for my own good. By the way, my seahorse costume has nearly got me 2,000 views on a video, and mind you, it's rated pretty high. So yeah... enough on that.
  9. I don't feel bad for this team. However, I feel bad for Lackey. He deserved this win. If we only had offense...
  10. He's messing up our bullpen just like he did last year. He's going to make more stupid decisions that will mess us up. He already did it two times already. He needs to give the guys "roles" in the bullpen, not just change the guys every night. He manages this bullpen so horribly. He needs to know when to switch certain guys out and actually use long relief pitchers. He's failed to do this several times already. Fire the guy, please. I've been saying this since mid last year.
  11. It would seriously help if Francona knew how to manage the bullpen.
  12. JD Drew had another useless hit that amounted to nothing. It's over.
  13. Start Lowell at DH. Ortiz is finished.
  14. Wins aren't everything. However, I better chill. I'm a Sox fan, but I really need to calm down. Sorry for disturbing everyone. I will now leave and hopefully not return (because I always say smack and that's not cool). So I'm sorry if I offended. Enjoy the game.
  15. Another 1-2-3 inning for Sabathia is my prediction. In fact, he'll probably throw a no-no against these guys.
  16. Yet, certainly the one I expected. Beckett is no ace. Sabathia is the better pitcher, he deserves to win it.
  17. You bet. Yankees working on #28. Up 1 to 0. Sox won't score a run against Sabathia. That's how bad the offense will be. EDIT: Yankees 2 to 0. Let's start our "Beckett is ace chat" will we?
  18. Yankees take this game and 2/3 in the series. I wish the Sox would win, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Yankees will hit Beckett enough to win. Sox will struggle to score runs.
  19. Sorry for this topic. I got out of hand a bit. I don't have high hopes, but I should wait until the season starts. Sorry.
  20. Unless something changes, this team is a no show. Kiss the 2010 season goodbye and just hand the Yankees and Rays postseason tickets. Pity the Sox can't even score enough runs for their pitchers who supposedly they prize ever so much.
  21. Still, Yankees have the offense. Even if their pitching goes down, they'll have offense to keep them in the game. The Sox don't have this.
  22. Oh I certainly agree that pitching isn't our main problem. But when you have an offense as bad as this, you need an ace pitcher. And we don't have one. Halladay doesn't throw 7 innings on average, but at least he can mow down multiple complete games with only 90 to 100 pitches. Now that is what an ace is about.
